I e been buying shakeology and have great luck with it but the price is killing me. I am a 65 year old woman and I am focusing on 50% macros in protein. I would love some recommendations from others for a high quality protein powder that won’t break the bank

Honestly... I don't think shakeology or protein powder are necessary. Shakeology is a straight up scam in and of itself. For the most part, protein powders are just added liquid calories that are most likely unnecessary. Kinda like a high protein milkshake. But most any whey based protein powders you find should work fine.

Shakeology is just a marketing scam. Beach Body neither owns or manufactures it personally. It's done by a 3rd party just like the majority of powdered proteins on the market.
Optimum Nutrition is good. They own their own plant (as well as manufacture for other sellers) and get their raw materials in the US and not China where there is no regulation for purity. I did a whole thread on Shakeology years ago and debated with a "coach" on how it was manufactured, purity, raw materials, labeling, etc.

I have to ask...why are you trying to get 50% of your calories from protein?

Here's a good guideline for you:

I'm curious what you mean by having good luck with it?

That might help guide us to give you the best advice. What benefit do you get from these powdered shakes that you are trying to replicate?
