Probably not without a lot more info than "fluctuates so much". That's like my computer users coming to me and saying "there's something wrong with my computer". What? "I don't know, there is just is".

How much? Over what period of time? How much do you weigh? How many calories are you eating/day? How much are you exercising a day or week?

To give you an idea, I'm about 160 pounds and my weight can and does easily fluctuate 5-7 pounds within a day and 10-12 pounds within a week. Water weight, time of day, time relative to when I've last worked out, how much salt I've eaten (which causes water retention). And on and on.

Maybe give some more info and we might be able to hazard a guess.

But still you've done well, so congratulations on that.

You've lost 26 lbs in 3 months!!! Great job.
That's what you need to focus on. Not the day to day fluctuations. Weight fluctuations are normal, and they happen to everybody, everyday. They're caused by many factors; excess salt intake, water retention, constipation and hormonal changes to name a few.

Don't get caught up in the day to day +/-. Focus on the big picture.
26 lbs in 3 months, you are doing fabulous! Keep at it.

    Simple -

You move +/- 10 lbs of water through your body every day. Fluctuations are timing issues.

Thanks for the reply, it good to have other people out there to talk too, because my wife is sick of hearing me talk about losing weight and working out.

Yep, I know what you mean about other people getting sick of listening to weight loss talk. Very glad for sites like this!

It's hard to pinpoint the cause of fluctuations without more information. However, it's important to remember that your weight isn't static anyway. It's more like a weight range and the number will bounce around in that range depending on time of day, what you've eaten, exercise, etc.

As long as the overall trend is going in the right direction, you know you're doing ok. If the range starts to move up, or simply doesn't move at all, then it's time to have fun and experiment until things get moving again.
