My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 62 years old and from the Midwest USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

I need to watch those calories but I’ve got to keep a mindful eye on those carbs too. I also need to fit in a little movement, even on the travel days because that really hurts my bottom line when it’s a day full of mostly sitting.
10/09-200.8-(Trend Weight 199.5)- Now that is a lot of bloat! No pill allowed today either because it’s a travel day. My first weigh in after pill will be Tuesday. My weight can fluctuate up to 5 pounds on the “off pill” days. Umph…..

@Bemybestby60 I am feeling your pain! Do you log your food? Not asking to be the MFP police but asking to see if you can go back to when this happened in September and see if there is a trend or a food that might cause this. I think you are one of the strongest members on this thread, you keep showing up consistently! Hang in there!
Yes I do log my food. I am thinking it is salty processed food and maybe gluten. Thanks for your advice I sure need it.1 -
My name is Mary. Hopeful this month. April 1st I was 180lbs and now I have creeped up to 188lbs. My thoughts are I haven't been diligent in my calorie intake. So this month my focus is keeping my calories in a zone to lose 1lb a week.

Me again, I weigh every day due to heart failure and fluid issues. I am finally making a daily weight check part of my morning routine (It had been doctors advice for a couple of years now but I just could not get in the routine of it)
For reference, I am 55f, 5'11" tall, and August 1st got back to a low carb menu in my house after losing a bunch and gaining it back 2 years ago.
OCTOBER GOALS (DAILY):

👟 Walk 5,500+ steps (Starting September 15th- nice to add something to the daily goal)
1-205.5 Welcome October! Bought dance tickets for the 27th of October, so I will be looking for a costume for the first time in a couple of years, and I would like to meet my Oct goal by then.

6-204.2 I slipped a little yesterday, skipping that tiny treadmill 1km and being sloppy with my eating, and didn't log my food. It is probably good that there is a bit of a gain to snap me back in line, even if it is maybe just a natural fluctuation lol

8-204.4 Losing the same couple of pounds repeatedly takes some of the rah-rah sis boom bah out of the :....has lost 1.4 pounds since her last weigh in..." I am going to stick to it though.

My October goals are the same as my September goals because those didn’t get met at all. September went sideways on me. I would like to get more movement in, especially on work days and more self care, 3 out of 7 days per week.

Salty takeout for dinner. It will come off. Self care yesterday, nails and shopping. Went to my usual plus sized store and am happy to report the last time I was there I was choosing between a 3x/4x (22-24) and yesterday I walked out of there with size 0 (Size 16) and likely will not need to shop there again (hopefully) ever. Definite NSV!

10/10-199.8-(Trend Weight 199.5)- I was very very mindful of my dinner out during travel yesterday. I ate half and brought the other half home for my son later. Last night for dinner I ate half my usual portion. I was really trying to take cues from my body while eating. My accomplished goal was to only eat until I wasn’t super hungry anymore, then stop. I don’t have to be “full” to be nourished or satisfied. Today I am going to try to pick better choices in regards to carbs. I’ll look at each thing I eat and see if there is a healthier carb choice I can substitute. It’s a real start to lowering them.

I too had that experience of leaving plus size stores behind
Last month I flew for a wedding and realized 2 hours before the ceremony I'd somehow ripped my dress.
I was able to go to the store and find a dress. Never would have done that so calmly before when I was plus size because the stores are so limited.
It's unfortunate but it does open up a lot more options. Can't wait to hear about your first shop in a different store!!2 -

I have spent a good portion of this year in my maintenance range (160-165). However, after a big trip in September, I'm above it. Time to get back to under 165!
October Start Weight: 172.2
October Goal Weight: 165 or less
October 1 - 172.2 (I ended September in a big fury of work related stress. Happy October 1! Looking forward to setting a positive tone for this month.)
October 2 - 171.4 (Yesterday we biked over 40K in the mountains and today we are going to hike around 5K. The fall weather in Alberta is gorgeous right now.)
October 3 - 171.4 (Worked from home, walked my dog at lunch, rode the Peloton after work, and then ate salad for supper. Good day.)
October 4 - 172 (Started with an early morning call for work that got the adrenaline going. I'll walk at lunch and see how I feel after work to do more.)
October 5 - 172.8 (Had a good day yesterday. Lots of steps and a Peloton ride.)
October 6 - 171.8 (Flying to Toronto with my hubby and dog to visit some family for Canadian Thanksgiving.)
October 7 - 170.2

@ashleycarole Torrid, yes! It has served its purpose over the last 4 years but I will not be sad to leave it behind! I’m a little frustrated with their sizing, I lost 40 pounds and ordered the exact same style of shirt this summer, just one size down and it was too tight. I sat on my bed and cried. I didn’t understand. Then I went in there this weekend, down 46 pounds (so a 6 pound difference) and was three sizes down! Vanity sizing I guess. I’ve heard all stores are like this but I know I love Old Navy because I consistently wear a size smaller than I do at other stores!
Thank god for leggings!
ETA: Hoping for many more “calm” shopping trips in the future as opposed to frustration and self loathing 😊

10/11-198.6-(Trend Weight 199.5)- OMGosh. My handyman quit on me and I have no idea why. We never had a quarrel or anything. No disputes. He didn’t even tell me, he just blocked my number and now I’ve noticed that his tools are gone. He hasn’t shown up this week or past weekend. I am out of options in this rural area and I still have a torn apart kitchen I can hardly use. So little skilled labor in this area, I just don’t know what I’m going to do now. Pray for me please and send every good vibe you can. I need help!

I ended September at 95 lbs, but my weight jumped by October 1. Hoping to get to a pound below September's ending and to incorporate more exercise to my routine.

Oct 3- Didn't weigh. I went to My Chemical Romance's concert on Oct 2, came back quite late, had a sudden 3 am urge to draw some greeting card designs, and got 1.5 hours of sleep. Then I had a rushed morning trying to get to school on time. Maybe not the best life decisions.
Oct 4-10 Didn't weigh. Lots of things have been not going too well, but that's my fault. Things haven't been going well in general for the past 6 years, but some episodes are tougher than others. I'm doing my best to at least look okay so people don't get worried.

Me again, I weigh every day due to heart failure and fluid issues. I am finally making a daily weight check part of my morning routine (It had been doctors advice for a couple of years now but I just could not get in the routine of it)
For reference, I am 55f, 5'11" tall, and August 1st got back to a low carb menu in my house after losing a bunch and gaining it back 2 years ago.

1-205.5 Welcome October! Bought dance tickets for the 27th of October, so I will be looking for a costume for the first time in a couple of years, and I would like to meet my Oct goal by then.

Definite NSV!

My name is Ashley, I'm 35 years old, and in early 2021 I weighed 293 pounds.
I have spent a good portion of this year in my maintenance range (160-165). However, after a big trip in September, I'm above it. Time to get back to under 165!

October Goal Weight: 165 or less
October 1 - 172.2 (I ended September in a big fury of work related stress. Happy October 1! Looking forward to setting a positive tone for this month.)
October 2 - 171.4 (Yesterday we biked over 40K in the mountains and today we are going to hike around 5K. The fall weather in Alberta is gorgeous right now.)
October 3 - 171.4 (Worked from home, walked my dog at lunch, rode the Peloton after work, and then ate salad for supper. Good day.)
October 4 - 172 (Started with an early morning call for work that got the adrenaline going. I'll walk at lunch and see how I feel after work to do more.)

Good morning everyone! Happy October to you all. This is my absolute favorite time of year. I had hoped to be at my goal weight yet again this year come fall. BUT, yet again I am still fighting. I was so close to my goal weight last year. 151. I felt amazing, but I need to figure out what keeps me from maintaining that. I am coming to a conclusion that it is mental for sure and my food choices have to change forever. I can still have foods that are not as healthy, but like once or twice a month. I am going to try to learn my triggers in the month of October and my hunger signals. Are they emotional etc. I am also moving more and will be looking for a challenge for that. Between work and family issues it will be a challenge to not emotional eat for sure. AND in the holiday season. WHEW.
