@deepwoodslady Thank you ❤️ I’m in Michigan too and so far all of this is through Michigan Medicine. They have been great so far. I live 20 minutes from the big hospital in Ann Arbor and 20 minutes from smaller satellite locations. Thankful for that.

    Hi there!
My name is Ashley, I'm 35 years old, and in early 2021 I weighed 293 pounds.
I have spent a good portion of this year in my maintenance range (160-165). However, after a big trip in September, I'm above it. Time to get back to under 165!

    October Start Weight: 172.2
October Goal Weight: 165 or less

October 1 - 172.2 (I ended September in a big fury of work related stress. Happy October 1! Looking forward to setting a positive tone for this month.)
October 2 - 171.4 (Yesterday we biked over 40K in the mountains and today we are going to hike around 5K. The fall weather in Alberta is gorgeous right now.)
October 3 - 171.4 (Worked from home, walked my dog at lunch, rode the Peloton after work, and then ate salad for supper. Good day.)
October 4 - 172 (Started with an early morning call for work that got the adrenaline going. I'll walk at lunch and see how I feel after work to do more.)
October 5 - 172.8 (Had a good day yesterday. Lots of steps and a Peloton ride.)
October 6 - 171.8 (Flying to Toronto with my hubby and dog to visit some family for Canadian Thanksgiving.)
    October 7 - 170.2
    October 8 - 169.4
    October 9 - 168.2
October 10 - 169.8 (On our flight home after a lovely visit with my MIL. We had a nice Thanksgiving meal last night. Missing her already.)
October 11 - 169.8 (Tough day, put myself to bed right after work, husband convinced me to get up for a light supper. Got 10,000 steps at least and ate under on calories.)
October 12 - 169.2 (Coming to terms with what I can do in limited time. Trying to find ways to make peace with that. Not everything can be a priority. For now I need to work on getting back to my maintenance range while maintaining a reasonable amount of mental health at work.)
October 13 - 168.8 (Had a good chat with my boss this morning. Feeling a bit more grounded. Dinner out and a concert with friends tonight.)
October 14 - 168.4 (Today was a whirlwind.. worked from home, went to an appointment, walked my dog, did some strength training, went for a beer, did grocery shopping, and cleaned. Tired!)
October 15 - 170.2 (Busy day with brunch, coffee, a walk, and supper out.)
October 16 - 171.8 (Not surprised at the effects of yesterday on the scale today. We are going out for a bike ride today.)
October 17 - 169.6 (Yesterday's bike ride was amazing. Calories on track. Today was a busy day at work but it was another on track day.)
    October 18 - 169.6
October 19 - 170 (Today is my third wedding anniversary. Unfortunately I have to travel for business but my husband and I went out for dinner last night and we will do a cooking class together Friday.)
October 20 - 171.6 (Yesterday turned into a food and drink fest after the work event. Got carried away and the scale reflects that.)
October 21 - 170 (Weather is chilly this morning. Have a busy workday and then my husband and I are going for drinks and a cooking class.)

@joans1976. U of M saved my life and cured me of my breast cancer over a decade ago. I live way "up north" and not really near anything. Not even a Walmart! However, mid Michigan has bought a lot up here and we now have come satellite locations within 2 hours of my home in a few directions. I am using them for everything too. I love the medical portal. I am wishing you the very best in all of this. Stay strong and do what you must. It's a lot, I know. I know that you already know that, but you got this! Many good vibes and prayers being sent your way.

@ashleycarole86. Well our state is shaped like a mitten. Joan lives near the bottom of the mitt and I live closer to the top but in a world as big as ours, approx 4 hours by car is not that bad.

I’m glad to have this inspiring group of people to share this journey with!

My October goals are the same as my September goals because those didn’t get met at all. September went sideways on me. I would like to get more movement in, especially on work days and more self care, 3 out of 7 days per week.

    OSW: 250 lbs
    UGW: 150 ish
    December 2022 GW: Onederland
    CW: 207.4 lb
    10/31 GW: 203 lb

    10/1: 207.4
    10/2: 209.4
    Yikes!
    10/3: 205.8
I weighed myself 3 times. The body is a weird thing.
    10/4: 205.3
Trying to catch up from all of last month’s drama. I could sleep for three days and still be tired!
    10/5: 205.3
    10/6: 205.1
So far this months goals have not been being met unless you count an hour nap on Sunday as self care. I guess it is because I needed for my “self.” I’m actually not sure how to meet these goals. They are harder to do than expected.
    10/7: 204.0
    10/8: 204.3
A manicure and shopping today after work.
    10/9: 205.3
Salty takeout for dinner. It will come off. Self care yesterday, nails and shopping. Went to my usual plus sized store and am happy to report the last time I was there I was choosing between a 3x/4x (22-24) and yesterday I walked out of there with size 0 (Size 16) and likely will not need to shop there again (hopefully) ever. Definite NSV!
    10/10: 205.3
    10/11: 204.0
    10/12: 204.0
    10/13: 204.0
    10/14: 204.3
    It’s finally Friday!
    10/15: 204.0
Ticked some more health markers off the list for my path to wellness yesterday, mammogram✅recheck bloodwork ✅. I’m left with an eye appointment and a spine appointment for the year. The rest of yesterday was spent doing self care aka shopping and laying on the couch. I’ll take it!
    10/16: 205.3
Ugh! Not happy to see this but I know it’s just a bump in the road.
    10/17: 204.6
My recheck bloodwork came back with a normal A1C but still elevated cholesterol. I’ve also got my blood pressure back to normal. I still have about 60 pounds to lose but my doctor and I talked extensively about my diet and she doesn’t think that’s what’s causing the cholesterol issue. It is likely genetic and something I can’t get away from. I really did not want to have to take a pill though. Ugh.
    10/18: 204
    Bloated, yuck.
    10/19: 203.1
    Apparently begging works! Thank you
    10/20: 204
    10/21: 203
    10/22: 204.6
    I’ve definitely been emotional eating.

@deepwoodslady I am grateful to have Michigan Medicine so close by. I used to work there and was quite unhappy with them for a few years but I know I’m in the right place to get this figured out the correct way. Thank you for your kind words!

    October
    Initial Starting Weight: 225.2
    October Starting Weight: 205.5
    October Goal Weight: 200.6
    Ultimate Goal Weight: 180.0

Me again, I weigh every day due to heart failure and fluid issues. I am finally making a daily weight check part of my morning routine (It had been doctors advice for a couple of years now but I just could not get in the routine of it)

For reference, I am 55f, 5'11" tall, and August 1st got back to a low carb menu in my house after losing a bunch and gaining it back 2 years ago.

    OCTOBER GOALS (DAILY):
    ⚖️ Weigh in
👟 Walk 5,500+ steps (Starting September 15th- nice to add something to the daily goal)
1-205.5 Welcome October! Bought dance tickets for the 27th of October, so I will be looking for a costume for the first time in a couple of years, and I would like to meet my Oct goal by then.
    2-204.8 👟 1.1 km
    3-203.6 👟 1.5km
    4-202.8 👟 1.0 km
    5-203.0
6-204.2 I slipped a little yesterday, skipping that tiny treadmill 1km and being sloppy with my eating, and didn't log my food. It is probably good that there is a bit of a gain to snap me back in line, even if it is maybe just a natural fluctuation lol
    7-203.2
8-204.4 Losing the same couple of pounds repeatedly takes some of the rah-rah sis boom bah out of the :....has lost 1.4 pounds since her last weigh in..." I am going to stick to it though.
9- 203.4 It is Thanksgiving Sunday here in Canada. I am up before 7am to get things started cooking. Have a great day everyone!
    10-203.4
11-202.4 Not feeling great this morning. Maybe a bit of a cold coming on. -1C this morning outside
    12-203.0
13-201.4 Unexpected. I will take it though lol
14-203.8 Also unexpected lol. By the way I feel it is quite possible that the entire 2.4 pound gain is sitting in my sinuses. Blaaaah I feel awful.
    15-202.4
16-203.0 Dear body. You are toying with my emotions. To show me that 201 3 days ago then just bounce around is cruel and unusual punishment. Stop it. I am logging my food, I am sticking to the plan. Just show it on the scale for goodness sakes. Grr.
    17-201.4 Begging works?!? lol
    18-200.8
    19-202.4
20-203.8 So yesterday I got up and did something I haven't done in forever. I got up and had a giant bowl of Special K with a banana cut up in it. 80 grams of carbohydrates before the day even started. stayed pretty good the rest of the day but did a little mindless eating just before bed. Rice cakes. Salty and crunchy but not potato chips. I expect this gain is fluid retention and will be mostly gone in less than a week. Back with the program today after this little wake up call lol
    21-203.4
    22-203.4

So I'm a bit late to this monthly challenge. My challenge is to have a 10 day average intake of as close to 6,000 KJ possible. My weight is a bit high right now, I'll post in a few days once salt leaves my body.

October 22 - 169 (The cooking class was so fun. My husband has been volunteering all day so I was busy with other things.. visited a family member in the hospital, went to a movie with family, did some errands, rode the Peloton. We got our first big snowfall today too so I spent some time with the shovel!)
October 23 - 168.4 (Today my husband and I go to see two live piano performances with dinner in between.)

    10/23: 203
    10/24: 202.3

My name is Mary. Hopeful this month. April 1st I was 180lbs and now I have creeped up to 188lbs. My thoughts are I haven't been diligent in my calorie intake. So this month my focus is keeping my calories in a zone to lose 1lb a week.

    Starting weight 188 lbs
    Goal weight 184 lbs
    Wednesday weekly trend weight 187, 186, 185 & 184 lbs.

    Oct 1. 188lbs
Oct 5. 185lbs Wednesday my old regular weigh in. So lost some pounds and now to keep them off. My trend weight this past week was 185.7lbs. So by watching my calories this week my aim will be 184.7 lbs. I trying to set more realistic goals for myself.
Oct 8. 193 lbs Again with the huge weight gain in a short period of time. This sucks.😫
Oct 9. 188 lbs. This is too drastic for me.
Oct 12. 186 lbs ⬇️⬇️My Wednesday check in. My weekly trend weight is 188.3 lbs so I did not achieve my week 2 goal. But I am down 2 lbs from the start of the month. Feeling pretty good. Attitude is positive.
    Oct 13. 186lbs
    Oct 14. 186lbs
    Oct 15. 187lbs
    Oct 16. 187lbs
    Oct 17. 190lbs
    Oct 18. 189lbs
Oct 19. 187lbs Well another Wednesday weigh in. My trend weight is 187.3. So I did not reach my trend weight goal. Down 1 lb.
    Oct 20. 187lbs
    Oct 21. 189lbs
    Oct 22. 189lbs
Oct 23. 189lbs I haven't been so dedicated in reporting in. Been weighing myself but not tracking my food. So many doctor appointments last week and they weren't mine. I feel grateful that I am there for my family. But I really need to get my act together and start taking the steps to a more healthy lifestyle.
    Oct 24.
    Oct 25.
    Oct 26.
    Oct 27.
    Oct 28.
    Oct 29.
    Oct 30.
