My most disappointing bike riding days. Thought I had a weather window in this huge storm we are having. Well I was wrong, hit sustained winds 25mph and gusts to 45mph. Well after 3 miles of almost getting blown off my bike in heavy winds and rain, sadly I had to give up.

Come to find out I have an avulsion fracture in my ankle and it'll take 6 weeks to heal completely. My ortho says I can ride my bike, just so long as I don't do anything to re-injure the ankle in the next couple weeks...yay! I took my bike out for an easy spin today on roads, and it didn't hurt and it felt fine. 14.17 miles biked today, mtd 177.530

Enjoyed watching (from a distance) a very brazen and LARGE coyote right on the paved trail that runs along the Rio Grande River through Albuquerque. We see them often, but not usually that big or that close out in the open. The poor runners were not thrilled, and I was happy my son and I were on bikes.0 -

Wow. That's pretty fast healing time for an avulsion fracture. Cool beans! :-) Have fun on the bike and stay off the foot as much as possible.0 -

I wonder why he was being so Brazen in the open daylight? I wonder if he had a den near the trail or if there was a meal he was trying to defend.0 -

@ Anaconda - I'm surprised with 25mph sustained winds that you were on your bike at all. That's a TOUGH ride in that kind of wind. Way to hang in there. :-)0
