    I'm Ashley, or "Ashes". I'm a Midwestern gal that lost the first baby weight through these monthly accountability challenges. Now I'm back during my 2nd pregnancy to make sure I'm keeping an eye and not gaining (or losing) too quickly on poor food choices. I'm still first trimester so my doctor recommends 0-4 lbs weight gain, so I'm focusing on eating a super healthy maintenance with extra snacks if I want them.

    Height 5'5"
    1st Starting weight SW May 7, 2021: 169 lbs
    Maintenance weight since Mid Feb 2022: 140lbs
    UGW with pregnancy: ~165-175 lbs (last pregnancy I got up to 182 lbs...which was not recommended)


    1/01: 142 this was bloat from late night banana bread, no exercise
    1/02: 140.8, 15 minute stretches
    1/03: 140.8
    1/04: 140.2: I ate 100 calories over maintenance, but baby had different ideas.

    I did half of a 15 minute pregnancy pilates video, and said I'd finish it later when I was feeling better but didn't.

    Original start weight: 293 (01/21)
    January start weight: 178.2
    January goal weight: 170
    Ultimate goal weight: Maintain range of 160-165

    Jan 1: 178.2 (Happy New Year! We went out with friends last night and had a little too much fun. Slow moving today. Nevertheless, I have goals to accomplish, so I'm focused on what I want to achieve today.)
    Jan 2: 179.8 (All goals met yesterday including a 7KM walk that pushed me well over my 10K min step goal. Food was tracked, water was drank, did my reading. Today is my last day of vacation before we return to the office so I'm going to enjoy every minute!)
    Jan 3: 178.4 (Up early and back to my in office routine today. Yesterday I rode the Peloton, walked, and stayed on track.)
    Jan 4: 178.2 (Handled my first day back to the office well. Got my 10K steps and stayed on track.)

    @joans1976 I really enjoy getting out to the cities and trying new foods/restaurants or getting specialty foods as NOTHING is available in my county. Chinese, Italian etc. So many take all that for granted. My real problem is not the restaurant, it's my self-control. Because I'm not used to all the food choices, I have never learned control. That is something I need to do. Hiding with my head in the sand will get me nowhere. I'll get it, it will just take time. Summing it all up, what I really am trying to say is that I want to learn the self-control with food that I will need for life. I REALLY REALLY want to learn to be around food (of all types) and know what to choose and when to stop. I hope that makes sense.

    01/03-199.8-(Trend Weight 199.3)- After travel, I suppose it could have been worse. Gotta keep in Onederland. Travel again today but it won’t be nearly as far. With a good protein breakfast I can probably bypass lunch out. My son will want it and the travel is for him. I’ll probably do a drive-thru for him and just have a lunch at home within plan. Time to get super serious!

    01/04-198.8-(Trend Weight 199.3)- Down one pound today which puts me inching away from The 200’s. I’m happy about that but my trendweight stayed the same. I guess it doesn’t trust me and I don’t blame it. Travel today for cardiac rehab.

    Happy New Year! I am a mid-40's female who is 5'4" tall, a 2x cancer survivor with Hypothyroidism who is returning to MFP for accountability and to help track the effect of medication and weight. I am going to be balancing returning to work full-time while keeping track of my four kids and taking care of the household while my husband prepares for possible surgery in the near future. The end of 2022 was difficult with all the illnesses in our household and the passing of my 14 year-old dog. There is a lot of stress that I need to learn to manage without drinking soda or eating food.

    Weight is up 1.5 from yesterday, but there are a couple of external things affecting that. My acid reflux got really bad so I'm focusing on getting that back under control.

There is a lot of change and stress in my life right now and I am need to replace overeating and drinking soda as my stress reliever with other coping strategies. A star will track when I stayed under my daily caloric goal.

    1/05: 139.8, is this still from Tuesday? Or have a miscalculated my maintenance calories?

    I'm going out to eat at a bbq place tonight so I *better* not lose weight. I think this Little One is a jokester: I ate 2,571 calories yesterday (651 calories above maintenance) and didn't work out. We'll check back in tomorrow with an idea whether I need to further bump maintenance calories. I hadn't been tracking pre-pregnancy but there were A LOT of unhealthy snacks so it could be that my maintenance is higher and there are less caloric foods that I've been eating.

    01/05-199.0-(Trend Weight 199.2)- A touch up but trend weight is down. I am required to eat breakfast before physical therapy (which is early) so I end up with 3 meals instead of two and a long day of eating at that. Luckily, the therapy itself burns a few calories. I also finished putting away the Christmas stuff when I got home, so lots of stairs to the basement. Therapy involves travel and lunch out, but I kept it simple and did not finish it bringing half home for my son. I am noticing that I just can’t eat as much as I used to. I’m often still filling my plate the old way, or ordering out the old way and it has changed to smaller portions. That is a win, my friends! That should yield some results in 2023. I think maybe I am paying more attention to my hunger and stopping when I'm full instead of automatically finishing? I don't know.
    I'm going to monitor this and try to figure it out. Now, I Just gotta deal with the every other day (and after travel) bloat days and not let them depress me and make me give up! I’m happy today with all my results after 3 days of travel.
