My name is Mary, 65 from Pennsylvania. I'm a RN and work long days.
Been MIA for a few months but still logging in everyday since I started MFP 5/14/21.

Unfortunately lost my mojo and gained a lot back but not all Thank God! Need to get back on track and focused. I bought a NEW to me, gently used, Commercial PreCor EFX 835 Elliptical. It was delivered the beginning of November, as others here know I wore my previous 10+ year old one out from my extensive workouts. Stopped using it mid November to get my Christmas shopping done earlier than my norm. I was planning to start back up a week ago but had a GI bug and very weak. I restarted today but very slow at 45 minutes and 3 miles compared to my 3 hour historical workout sessions. I will MAYBE workup to it again.

Heaviest weight 255 lbs, twice. :-(
    9/14/20-255 lbs
    5/14/21-232.2 lbs MFP start date.
4/6/22- 147.6 lbs (107.4 lbs lost) I did NOT have a surgery. Did Keto.
    8/1/22- 167.2 lbs
    12/1/22-198 lbs

    1/1/23- 213.4 lbs
    1/2/23- 213.4 lbs
    1/3/23- 207.4 lbs
    1/4/23- 205.8 lbs
    1/5/23- 205.8 lbs
    1/6/23- 201.4 lbs
    1/7/23- 202.4 lbs
    1/8/23- 204.4 lbs elliptical 45 minutes
    1/9/23- 204.4 lbs elliptical 46 minutes
    1/10/22-201.6 lbs elliptical 47 minutes
1/11/22-203.6 lbs Not sure why the uptick. I stayed on track yesterday with my carbs/calories. I worked today. For new people I don't workout on work days. I'm a RN and work long days. That's why I used to do long elliptical sessions on my days off. To makeup for my work days. I work 4 days/week, 10+ hours.

    Hello all!
My name is Ashley, 36 years old. Married with no kids, one dog, two cats.
    Original start weight: 293 (01/21)
    January start weight: 178.2
    January goal weight: 170
Ultimate goal weight: Maintain range of 160-165

Jan 1: 178.2 (Happy New Year! We went out with friends last night and had a little too much fun. Slow moving today. Nevertheless, I have goals to accomplish, so I'm focused on what I want to achieve today.)
Jan 2: 179.8 (All goals met yesterday including a 7KM walk that pushed me well over my 10K min step goal. Food was tracked, water was drank, did my reading. Today is my last day of vacation before we return to the office so I'm going to enjoy every minute!)
Jan 3: 178.4 (Up early and back to my in office routine today. Yesterday I rode the Peloton, walked, and stayed on track.)
Jan 4: 178.2 (Handled my first day back to the office well. Got my 10K steps and stayed on track.)
Jan 5: 178.8 (I have work lunches out both today and tomorrow that will require good planning. Last night I rode the Peloton and hit all my goals for the day.)
Jan 6: 179.2 (Positive day given that I exceeded 12K steps. However, I was put into many different food situations, and by the end of the day I started to make poor choices.)
Jan 7: 180.8 (Up to go hiking with my husband. Not going too far because we have dinner theatre tonight.)
Jan 8: 180 (Worked out a ton yesterday with a hike and the Peloton because I had the energy. The dinner theatre was good - a lot of good but I made reasonable choices. I have already had a short ride on the Peloton today).

    Week 1 - Gained 1.8

Jan 9: 180.4 (Had a very busy day today. Commuted in for a work day in the office, got home a bit later than normal, walked the dog, tag teamed dinner prep with the husband, ate a delicious salmon dinner, and vegged a bit. I leave for a two night business trip tomorrow so that's got me feeling rushed.)
Jan 10: 179 (I travel for business today, flying for a two night overnight stay. I am hoping to do a Peloton ride first thing this morning. If I can fit a workout into the hotel tomorrow I'll be golden.)
Jan 11: DNW (Kept my commitment to myself and hit the hotel gym for a workout before my busy day of meetings started.)

Happy New Year! I am a mid-40's female who is 5'4" tall, a 2x cancer survivor with Hypothyroidism who is returning to MFP for accountability and to help track the effect of medication and weight. There is a lot of change and stress in my life right now and I am need to replace overeating and drinking soda as my stress reliever with other coping strategies. A star will track when I stayed under my daily caloric goal.

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda, I am from Michigan. This is my second time on MFP. I lost 55 pounds in 2016, over the years gained it all back plus some. I started again last March with a goal to lose 110 pounds. I’ve lost 45 and would like to lose 45 more this year. It’s a new month and a new year! My goal this month is to lose 3 pounds.

    SW: 205.0
    GW: 202.0
    UGW: 140 lbs

    1/1: 205.0
    1/2: 205.6
    1/3: 203.6
    1/4: 204.4
    1/5: 203.3
    1/6: 203.1
    1/7: 204.1
    1/8: 205.6
Yikes, going the wrong way! We went to an Asian Fusion Buffet last night and I did my best, I didn’t get anything fried, stuck with sushi and chicken and shrimp and fish. Everything seemed salty though. Skipped the dessert. Still…today the scale reflects this. It is logged and today is a new day!
    1/9: 205.6
Struggling to not stress eat, my main food groups seem to be yogurt, fruit, veggies and chocolate. Not at the same time.
    1/10: 205.6
Ugh I’m getting nowhere fast. The stress eating is a real issue. Gotta get a grip.
    1/11: 203.8
No stress eating yesterday, I was too busy. Getting 5 servings of fruit and veggies in in a day is a lot! And the fruit seems so much easier to get in 😉 Lots of steps yesterday too.
    1/12: 203.8
I’m getting tired of these water weight fluctuations, I would like to see some real progress. I’ve been battling with these same 5 pounds since October 3. I know it all lies within me, it just was so much easier last Spring and Fall. I don’t know if I need a diet break, a vacation or a swift kick in the pants.
    Ok, rant over
    Happy Thursday!

Howdy y'all! I'm a West Virginia girl who is trying to get back to basics. I lost 50 pounds from January to October last year then fell apart, gaining 10 pounds back. I'd like to drop another 40-50 pounds this year. I'm only 5'1" so my goal weight is <120. I enjoy being active, but I also like lazy days on the couch snuggled with the dog especially in the winter months.

    Starting weight: 160.8
    Jan goal: 155

    Jan 3: 160.8
Jan 4: 159.2 - Coming down from a large high sodium dinner on the 2nd...
    Jan 5: 158.4
    Jan 6: 157.6
Jan 7: DNW - forgot to do it before I ate breakfast.
    Jan 8: 156.8
Jan 9: 157.0 - Not bad for a pizza night last night. I was within calories, just a larger late meal.
Jan 10: 157.4 - High sodium dinner, but definitely under calories yesterday so no worries.
    Jan 11: 155.6 - That's better
Jan 12: 154.8 - Surprised it went down since I had a few beers last night. Usually they cause at least a temporary blip.

01/12-198.2-(Trend Weight 199.3)- I Gotta get Very Very serious about my Carbs. I don’t think I mentioned it, but in cardiac rehab on Monday they had to keep me over an extra hour because my EKG numbers were wrong in some way. I became very sick. This is not the first time. So on Wednesday I drove out of town all the way there for rehab again and they decided to check my glucose and it was at 377 and they would not let me participate. I listened to the ranting lecture and I felt like a child in the corner. I really felt like a failure. I cried while driving when I left. I spent every moment after that yesterday tracking my carbs more carefully, not just my calories. It’s difficult because I really can’t increase my fat due to the heart issues. And, of course, I have the eating disorders that cause me not to eat most veggies and all fruits. This is a challenge. I know I can choke down chicken breast but when I overdo a food I begin getting gag reflex so I really have to vary my meals. I’m a mess folks but I am going to use the MFP calorie and carb info to help me prelog and navigate my meals. I see the endocrinologist in Feb. Maybe I can make a big enough difference to avoid the insulin shots but I really don’t know at this point. I know, at this point, none of my meds are working. They call it insulin resistance. Long post, I know, but staying 100% accountable helps me stay on point. I already know that the big overnight party for my brother this weekend will likely be out-of-control with food and drink, but otherwise, I’ve GOT to make a lot of new and uncharted unexplored changes. I’ll take all your hugs and all your support too!

    Hello Everyone!
I’m Kiki, 28 and from the UK.
I’ve been letting life and work stresses take over and my weight has crept up over the last few years. I like the outdoors and cycling so was able to maintain reasonable weight range throughout my life, even with an unhealthy diet. That’s catching up with me now as I have stopped exercising and I have lost a lot of motivation to be active! (I also think it’s affecting my mental health!) On top of that, I need to learn about nutrition and what is a healthy diet / portion size.
I’ve been yo-yoing, stopping and starting diets and exercise plans for the last 2 years. After a recent health check up, I realised I had developed bad habits over the last few years and unless I changed things, I was only going to gain more weight, lose more confidence and motivation to do things!
So here I am, starting a few weeks after New years (better late than never!).
I’m hoping to stay on track and stay accountable for three things daily: eating well, exercising, measuring my food and 2 things weekly: measuring my weight and body measurements.
    January SW: 154
GW: 130-140 ( whatever weight I feel healthy and fit!)

12th Jan: 154, did not eat well, exercised (4km walk ), did not measure food

01/11-198.6-(Trend Weight 199.4)- Whoosh thanks to TMI. Travel again today. I’m going to watch my P’s & Q’s.

01/13-195.8-(Trend Weight 198.9)- Finally home yesterday and able to take all my meds. Whoosh! Back to logging all my food and it’s making a difference too. Everything will be out the window Saturday and Sunday during far travel and my brother’s 60th birthday party. I plan on having lots of fun without going overboard, but no worries, I’ll be back in the saddle on Monday. And I’m really going to make today count too - I’ve already pre-logged my food for the day. I would LOVE to FINALLY make my goal this month.

Howdy!

Did Keto.

    1/13: 205.0 🫤
    1/14: 203.8
For some reason MFP wished me a Happy 8th Anniversary today which is odd as I signed up in 2011 and have been off and on since. 🤷🏻‍♀️

01/14-197.2-(Trend Weight 198.8)- A perfect day yesterday so I’m not sure why the scale is up. The Universe reassessing? No worries. I’m very much on track. It’s probably just my low level of sleep last night, early weigh-in and maybe because I haven’t been getting REM sleep lately? Anyway, I will be hitting the road soon for my brother’s birthday celebration. I can’t wait to see him and my SIL. He is also diabetic and has some very serious heart conditions now (different from mine, but worse to fix). I love being able to travel with my oldest daughter too. She has been dieting so maybe we can keep each other somewhat accountable, even during travel and party. My youngest daughter eats constantly and showers me with food. My older daughter (12 yrs older) is more likely to be concerned with my glucose and encourage me to watch it! I would love to spend more time with her but she is so busy. Teacher’s assistant at our local K-12 school, in college for early education and has 3 children - High school, middle school and kindergarten. Never enough time for mom. I’m just glad that college doesn’t open back up until the 19th and she can go with me.

Jan 12: DNW (Home sweet home. Really proud that I started today with another elliptical workout at the hotel. Made good choices again before flying home.)
    Jan 13: 176.6
Jan 14: 174.2 (Back home, clearly the hard work on my business trip paid off on the scale, feeling great about that. I am on the road today and it will include a brunch with friends that's already pre-tracked. Nursing my knee that I hurt on the bike on Tuesday.)

I started again last March with a goal to lose 110 pounds. I’ve lost 45 and would like to lose 45 more this year. It’s a new month and a new year! My goal this month is to lose 3 pounds.

@ashleycarole86 Way to go! Hard work does pay off! Hope your knee feels better!

@deepwoodslady I hope your visit with your brother was fun! Sounds like your older daughter could give your younger daughter some “showering mom with love” tips!

Jan 15: 174.6 (Someone in another group suggested Voltaren for my knee which I slathered on before bed last night, so I may try that again today. Focused on walking as my exercise yesterday and the knee is holding up fine. Today we will watch the football game.)

Hi! I’m Rebecca from Missouri, 43, currently 274 lbs. Heaviest weight ever 285. I recently started doing Intermittent Fasting 18:6.

    January goals:

Fast 18 hours (or more) per day. Lose at least 8 lbs this month.

Jan 2: 21 hour fast plus a great hike. Around 1500 calories total.

Jan 3: 270 lbs. -4 lbs! I know it’s likely just water weight, but still! I fasted for 18.5 hours today and am hoping to get a walk in this evening.

Jan 4: didn’t weigh in. Did a 19.5 hour fast and I’m trying to drink water. The big success today was pushing myself to take a lunch break and go for a walk. It was cold and I was super busy at work but went out and walked 2.5 miles.

Jan 5: weighed in at 269. 19 hour fast. I have a cold and feel crummy today. No exercise and I I indulged in an absolutely delicious dessert my wife baked. But I didn’t over-indulge.

January 15: wow, it’s been 10 days since I checked in! I was hit with a horrible flu and have been miserable for a couple of weeks. I’m finally feeling better and ready to focus on eating right and exercise! I look forward to reading through all the posts I’ve missed to get caught up on everyone’s progress!

Howdy I’m a West Virginia girl who is trying to get back to basics.

    Jan 13: DNW
Jan 14: 155.4 - Chinese for dinner last night.
    Jan 15: 155.2
