Hi, I'm Karina.
I'm new here and I feel a bit overwhelmed. I'm always amazed at the amount of calories I consume and have no idea how I can "survive" with only 1200 calories per day! :open_mouth:
I love eating and have been learning to have more love for cooking. I have also been learning to enjoy running since I have realized it gives me faster results.
Thank you for your support!

Why do you think you need to 'survive' on 1200 calories? Unless you're very short/sedentary/older you can probably lose weight eating more.
If MFP gave you 1200 as a goal, you've probably selected a weight loss rate that's too aggressive (1200 is the lowest MFP will give a woman, to ensure adequate nutrition).
I lost all of my weight eating 1700+ calories, but it requires a bit more patience. Suffering is optional 😉

First, do you have your goal set at 2 lbs a week? Because I've found mfp seems to immediately go that low whenever you do. You might consider changing your goal to 1 lb a week and see what it gives you.

Second, find some volume foods you love. Popcorn instead of chips. Adding sauteed vegetables to pasta (zoodles or broccoli slaw work great with spaghetti or angel hair). There is even a volume eaters thread you might want to look at for ideas. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10563959/volume-eaters-thread#latest

Find what works for you and is sustainable. Maybe don't cut down everything at once. I've lost about 80 lbs in total and I average 1500 calories a day. I also day stay hard and fast on that. Some days I'm at 1200 and others I'm at 1800. I just give myself a workable range so I don't go so low that I can't function and not so high that I undo all my hard work.

Remember it's a marathon and not a sprint. I don't know how much you have to lose or what your goals are but reminding myself that I didn't put it all on in a day/week/month means I also won't take it off that fast either.
