Easy High Protein Shake

For anyone to add more protein to their diet, this is a great, versatile protein shake base recipe:

1/2c cottage cheese
1 scoop protein powder
1/2 cup water

And then add whatever you want! Today I added some brewed coffee, a dash of mint extract, whirred it up with my stick blender, and filled my cup with ice.

It was a delicious peppermint mocha shake!

You can also use a regular blender for more of a smoothie and add berries, etc.

I don't like the weird cottage cheese texture and never would just eat it, but you absolutely cannot taste it in this shake. Between the protein powder and the cottage cheese, it's very satiating and the possibilities are endless.

I do protein smoothies on the mornings I work....never tried the cottage cheese because I don't like the texture either. I use frozen fruit (my local grocery store has a line called blendables with different fruit and veggie combinations that you can use for smoothies), unsweetened vanilla almond milk, vanilla greek yogurt and chai seeds. Sometimes I add in a dash of honey. I started adding in some protein powder too and I'm good until lunchtime. I picked up a Cuisinart blender at the thrift store for $5...works great!
