Intro....

Hello my name is Vanessa and in March, 2014 I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes from living an unhealthy lifestyle. I have to admit controlling my high blood sugar has been a challenge with me because I tend to stress eat and not properly plan out my meals. Working with my Diabetes Educator and using MFP has really helped me stay on track.

I would like to connect with other people using MFP to control their diabetes or anyone who is looking for support and motivation on your weight loss journey.

    Hi, Vanessa!

Have you taken a look in the Groups part of the MFP Community? There are quite a few groups for diabetes or pre-diabetes, if you do a search there. This one looks like it's still somewhat active, has lots of members:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1772-type-2-diabetes-support-group

I'm not diabetic myself, but have found that the groups are a good way to meet similar people (for a variety of versions of "similar"). If you read around the Community, you'll also find threads about diabetes, or you can post any specific questions you have in the relevant Community topic area.

For more general kinds of support and motivation, there are also some great groups/challenges in the Challenges part of the Community, direct link here:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/challenges

You can read the intro posts there, pick out something that seems to fit you, and join in. Most people are very friendly, IME really want to help others succeed; and the challenges can be a great way to get acquainted and find like-minded folks to be MFP friends.

    Wishing you much success here!
