Hi all, feel free to friend me, I've got a lot of weight to lose and I am sure I could do with some motivation and inspiration from others on this journey.

    Hi, and welcome!

Here's the bad news: Motivation is mostly internal, at least that's what I think. Relying on others for inspiration can maybe help, but watch out for how you may be affected by others who fade or give up . . . because you're more committed than that, right? ;)

Something more like good news: Maybe check out some of the groups or challenges in the Challenges part of the Community? Direct link to that area here:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/challenges

There, you can read the intro posts for a lot of different options, and find one (or more) that sound like they'd be a good fit for you. That's a good way to get support (that's less likely to fade than individuals), and to meet like-minded people who are going to stay the course with you, cheer you on.

As far as inspiration, when I was losing I found a lot of it in the Success Stories section. Some specific threads I liked are these:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1167854/photo-only-success-stories#latest
    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10207059/before-and-after-face-edition#latest
    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1275030/whats-your-most-recent-nsv#latest

Those are all really long running threads, huge number of pages, so you may find that the earlier pages have posts from way back, even so far back that photos are lost to the mists of time. You can skip ahead to more recent pages by using the number/arrow clicks near the bottom of the page, get to more current content. That last thread is full of great things that can happen all along the road to goal weight, even way before reaching goal. (NSV = Non-Scale Victory, good stuff from weight loss that doesn't involve the number on the scale.)

Wishing you great success here on MFP!
