Things you wish you knew at the start of your weight loss journey

Hi everyone, i am currently 5 weeks into my weight loss journey and have lost 8lbs so far. I am calorie counting and exercising but i’m just wondering if anyone has any advice for someone starting their own weight loss journey.

  • Log everything and be honest even if you gorged that day. Move daily, even cleaning on snow days. After 15 pounds or so "reset" by maintaining for a month or so (you'll gain a couple), then lower calories again and get to it.

    I wish I had made a point to take more pictures and measurements when I started. I didn't begin taking body measurements until part of the way along. It would be great to look back and say, "Look what I did!" I do have a couple pictures; one of them is the reason I finally got serious about losing the weight after sort of pretending to try for several years.
