Craving/feeling hungry

I just got back into cutting calories and exercising. I had used MyFitnessPal previously and lost some weight (about 40 pounds) but have gained it all back plus some. This time around I am more hungry even after meals or a healthy snack of fruit or raw veggies. Any ideas on how to curb that and resist the urge to snack.

Maybe you have your calories set too low?
So, you're trying to lose 40ish pounds? Set it to, "Lose 1 pound per week." Set your Activity Level as accurately as possible. Almost no one is "sedentary" so don't pick that one unless you don't ever leave your house nor do any housework.
Then - make sure to eat protein, fat and carbs in every meal and snack. I front-load my day by eating the majority of my food before noon. That may or may not work for you.
The other thing is that if I eat sweets or a lot of high-carb foods like bread or cereal and not enough protein and fiber, I'm always hungry/craving.
Additionally the first week or so of reduced calories is difficult for most people. It gets better.3 -
sometimes simply stopping the overeating gets tough especially if you have recently been feasting... going from that to a fast weight loss pace is a big change and the body keeps sending 'eat more' signals, yes? Consider eating at maintenance for a few days, then drop to weight loss ranges. Takes a few days for appetite to reset..... I'm always kinda ravenous the first few days, and better the morning on day 4. Hang in!
~ you've done it before. what did you do then?2
