I am looking for some meal plans . I started the biggest loser challenge today and I want to ensure that I start off right and get this weight down.

Eat what you like to eat but stay within the calorie goal given to you by MFP. Then you'll lose weight. Really, it doesn't matter what you eat as long as you feel full and happy. I mean, I could tell you what I eat, but you might not like it, or not feel full from it.

EatingWell.com is my favorite site to find new recipes. Search “1800 calorie meal plan” and you’ll find what you’re looking for. I would say you could Google the same, but I’ve seen some weight loss meal plans with questionable nutritional balance.

Otherwise, what @yirara said above. Just start logging with the food you like to eat and stop at 1800. After a couple of weeks, you’ll start to note where you can save calories while maximizing what you eat.

Side note: My friend and I were chatting yesterday, and she said she NEEDS to follow a plan with a structure, so I get why it would be helpful in the beginning.

When lowering calories the things that generally have to be limited are alcohol and ultra processed foods like cookies, chips, non diet sodas, etc.

You’ll want to prioritize lean protein

The successful weightloss diet will be one that can be continued post weightloss so diets like KETO or other super restrictive diets can be a problem for many to continue post weightloss so it can lead to putting the weight back on if you go back to old eating habits.

There are also sites like this one:

    https://www.eatthismuch.com/

I'm not affiliated with the site, don't even use the site because I don't like my life to be that structured. I have played with it, just to see how it works, since a lot of people seem to ask this kind of question here.

Myself, I just ate the number of calories I estimated I'd need, focused on getting them from foods I find filling, that add up to decent total nutrition, and that I actually enjoy eating. That worked fine all through weight loss, and for 7+ years of maintenance since.

    I did this:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10636388/free-customized-personal-weight-loss-eating-plan-not-spam-or-mlm/p1

It won't work for everyone (no one thing is universally perfect), and it's 100% not the type of plan you're asking for. ;)

To keep from feeling deprived, I often vary my meals as big meals/small meals. For example: a large breakfast of eggs, bacon, buttered toast and hash browns might mean a dinner of salmon and greens. Conversely, I might opt for plain yogurt with berries in the morning so that later - I can haz cheezeburger!

I'm a firm proponent of eat whatever you want, just exercise portion control. Pizza is ok, just maybe 2 slices instead of your usual 4. Ice cream is fine, just maybe one scoop instead of a full bowl.

Having 1800 calories to work with gives lots of room for flexibility which a person eating 1200 wouldn't have.

Having just finished reading a lengthy article about socalled watertok (good *kitten* grief!!!) diets, I’m sure you understand that water is not and should not be used in place of nutrition.

Replacing food with water is a terrible plan, if that’s what you meant.
