I’m bumping along at the lower end of my preferred weight range – a side effect of a very dull social life. I cancelled two holidays in April because of my poor mobility and in anticipation of getting a hip replacement op. Still waiting for a date ……

Nov 1, 2022 Now over my Normal BMI 9 pounds to lose to get back into it.
Since Nov 19, 2022 Back under Normal BMI!! so basically I was overweight for 3 months of 50 months. That’s a success for me.
Maintenance weight range: 150-159.9 “In the 150’s” This gives me about >5 lbs before I hit Overweight BMI.

1. ALL of my recent battery of medical labs & tests are excellent. I’m exercising & healthy. Except my BMI is > 24.9 which is my goal.
2. I finally began taking my measurements twice a month. This has been motivating me.
3. Think of my 10K steps, tracking, and calories as “My Job” now. Walking first thing each day. 3 meals + 1 optional snack.
4. Shifted March 23 to 3 meals NO snacks. I’m 67, I don’t need snacks!
Struggles: My 5-year Maintenance Anniversary is in 4 months. I remember reading that maintaining the first year is difficult, but there are still challenges at 3 years and 5 years. I promised myself I would “stay the course.”
I have 1.2 lbs lbs still to lose.

Success of the week: I am working on "re-entry" from my Grand Canyon trip. It's always tough to come back from a long river trip, especially one this long and this indescribable. But here I am, and I'm looking forward to more adventures.
Struggle of the week: Working through leftover food from the trip, and taking it a bit "too easy" means my mass is up again, now at the top of my maintenance range. Time to get back at it!2 -

I’ve halted the downward drift. I don’t need to weigh less than 48 kg.
Struggles:
I expect today’s weight to be a blip after the weekend. My daughter and grandchildren came to stay for a couple of nights so food was not strictly controlled.
Coronation weekend involved more sitting watching tv than usual.

I was having a very good week until we had my son and wife over for his birthday. I made Carrot Cake and it was good. I told myself the next day, if my weight is below my goal weight, I would have another piece and it was a lb below goal, so I ate it! That isn't the only reason I gained but I'll blame it. That was a couple days ago (I wasn't logging either). Today, I am at goal weight. Hopefully, I stick it out for the rest of the week.
My goal for the coming week is to measure to be sure I'm not cheating.2 -
WARNING!!!! Check your base calorie goal daily for the next several weeks.
I just noticed this morning that mine reset itself. It has done this at least two other times that I caught and reset manually. I don't use the guided set-up. I sent a support ticket. Please do the same if you experience your goals changing without you changing them!
Last time I noticed within two days. This time was over two weeks ago. It started the day I got off the Colorado River - 25 April. It changed every few days, sometimes up and sometimes down, but generally up.
I set it back to the goal I know works for me. It explains why my weight wasn't responding the way I would have expected - my goal had changed without my knowing. Just be aware.1 -

I have actually been eating more these last few days – I have a date for my hip op and need to get in best health for it. I have been prioritising protein and calcium for a good recovery. But my weight is still only bumping along just over 48 kg.
I’m having the hip replacement op on Friday the 19th, and obviously my weight is going to bounce around a lot afterwards. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

Successes/struggles of the week: So my average weights over the past couple of weeks still appear to be moving downwards a bit (with a couple of higher weigh-ins after high calorie days, etc.) - mostly still in the 110 range, but there were a couple of low weigh-ins around 109. Based on TrendWeight, it looks like I might still be losing a bit of weight. I'll monitor for the next week or so and see if any changes need to be made. This is an interesting situation as I was struggling with being over the top of my range just a few months ago, and with my new weekend side job and being on my feet a lot doing prep work during the week, I might be experiencing the opposite problem for the first time since I started maintenance in 2018.3 -

I would like to ba back around 66-67. There is a lot foreseen this week also but I will do my best with health in mind.

I got taken out for breakfast on Thursday (late Mother's day) by my youngest son and out for lunch on Saturday by oldest son. I love it. This time, I actually logged the meals. The operation went well, I stayed in hospital one night and came home Saturday afternoon.
I weighed myself on Monday morning – just to see what happens post -op. I think of it as interesting experiment.

I went up 5lbs immediately after two different surgeries…water weight (inflammation believe) As you heal, it is no longer needed & decreases.
I think you already know not to diet at this time & make sure you get the calories - and protein - to rebuild tissue.
You go into a catabolic (sp?) state after surgery. Body is being told to eat more to help you heal.
