Hi MK,
I find that the flaxseed have a mildly nutty flavour. I personally like it, but I find that it doesn’t grind super fine in a smoothie, but I don’t mind that.
Today I added about two tablespoons.
Surely you already know of the great healthy benefits.

@tatilove1988 - thanks for the herb love! It took about 3 months to get this big, but I bought them as lil younglings, not from seeds.. I forgot to mention, I added a sprig of rosemary to my shake today.. pretty good! I'm going to try basil - blackberry this week!
What a great idea to add herbs to the smoothies; they have so much goodness. I’d like to try cilantro and and parsley as they’re supposed to be great detoxifiers.
I like drinking golden milk (milk with tumeric), I’ll try adding that sometimes to my smoothies.
Can’t wait to see your new concoctions.

Tart cherries 🍒
Banana 🍌
Almond butter 🌰
Peanut butter 🥜
Almond milk 🥛

Lol! While I was reading and looking, i was going to ask you about your beets! I wanted to know if you only put the greens in, or if you put the beets, too?
Do you eat the beets separately? Or do you just buy beet greens?

Omg it’s been such a busy day for me. Sorry for posting the late ladies
Here’s my smoothie:
Beets, beet greens, avocado, banana, haskap berries, yogurt, milk
I had ran out of greens since yesterday, but I got some new greens this evening, so I’ll get back to adding kale, spinach and chard to my smoothies tomorrow.
@SafariGalNYC your smoothie looks good 😍 Today while I was buying my veggies for the week, I saw the purple kale, but for some reason it was double the price of the green kale.
I like drinking mine in a big wine glass too sometimes. Makes me feel all fancy 👒🎩

Sorry it took me so long to get to you, been a bit busy. I do not juice my beets, use throw them in the blender raw. I cut them up into small pieces first.
I usually buy the beets with the greens still attached. They are very nutritious, maybe even more than the beets themselves.
Are you atil doing your salads or ready to take the plunge and start making smoothies?

No, not doing smoothies yet. I'm going to try to do salads this month, then perhaps branch out into smoothies 😁.

I am dragging myself towards the greens, fighting myself every step 😝
I washed, cut, and prepped a mountain of greens for salad today. It took so long tho, I warmed up tomato and cheese soup that I'd made earlier in the week, for hubby and I, cuz I was stah-ving!

Hubby and I prepped 12 containers of salad stuff. And I made four sacks of greens and carrot shavings last night into today.
Many many things in the salad!! Hubby says maybe a little too many add-ons fir salad. I'll have to edit next time 😬😉
Greens have:
Red cabbage
Green cabbage
Romaine lettuce
Green Leaf lettuce
Kale
Cilantro
Carrot shavings
Cherry tomatoes
Wet add-ins have:
Hard boiled egg
Cottage cheese
Ricotta cheese
Avocado
Dry add-ins have:
Craisins
Dried blueberries
Black currants
Chopped cashews
Raw pumpkin seeds
Sesame sticks
Flax seeds
Edamame
Dried pineapple
Dried dates
Dried apricots
(We left out the dried figs - or, I should say, hubby helped me understand that was tooooo much! 🤪)
On the plus side, hubby loves salad. So at least one of us will enjoy them this week 🤩. (Well both be eating them tho 🤣)

Hubby said too many things for his own sake lol. He’d rather have that tomato cheese soup 🤪 at least he loves salads, that’s lovely. In my home, I’m the only salad eater 😩
I know it’s a lot more motivating to eat healthy if others in the household also eat healthy, so you could make salads that you know hubby will also enjoy.
I love the mix of green and red cabbage, but for the lettuce, you could pick one type, one type of cheese, one or two types of berry/fruit.
I loooove the addition of pumpkin seeds in your salad. I might try that as well.

I have the same problem in the app (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t), so when I want to insert a picture, I go on the site directly. On your phone the MyFitnessPal mobile site will look almost identical to the app.1 -

I'm still working on my salad. Lol. Hubby's been done with his double/triple sized one for quite awhile.
(And I skipped the egg and the avocado, too, bc I already had eggs today, and bc I don't love avocado (hubby does tho )., )

Cilantro
Carrot shavings
Cherry tomatoes (cherry tomatoes are not in the greens sacks, they're separate 🍅)
Hubby's salad - you can't see depth, but this is a small pasta serving bowl, not an entree sized plate 😳 (hubby loves salad). He has all his stuff mixed into the center, with more greens added on top. -
My salad - I do NOT love said, lol. This is a regular sized plate 🤪 -

Beautiful looking salad. I’d love to eat a mix of your salad and your husband’s posted previously. I like my greens as much as the rest.
I also love the way you prepped all your veggies and other salad ingredients. It makes it easy to grab something when hungry. Also when everything is ready for you, it makes it easier fight off junk food cravings.
