Hi all, I'm new to all this and made some changes to my lifestyle of late.
Little bit about what I'm aiming for:
I'm 47 weigh 77.7kg and 5'7". 2 weeks ago I hit an all time weight of 13st and thought I need to change. Aiming for 11 and half stone with some muscle tone.
My diet consisted of takeaways and 1 large meal a day with chocolate and chocolate cake must evenings (I got the sugar tooth through stopping alcohol 8 months ago) never touched it before.
Over the last 2 weeks I've signed up to EMS training and completed my 3rd session today, put myself on a diet using MFP with creating a deficit 200 -300 calories per day of a goal of 1500. If I exercise that is a bonus and I don't eat the calories back.
I've been pushing for high protein each day to aid with upper body strength training.
Constipation has kicked in the past few days.
Taking it a step further I've bought myself XLS Medical Weight Loss+ to aid my weight loss, 2 tablets 30 mins before each 2 main meals.
Sorry to go on and on and on, after your experiences and thoughts.
Thank you

The website doesn’t show the ingredients just goes on and on about it’s “natural ingredients” and clinical “efficacy”. Hard to say what the formula is even designed to do much less if it would actually work.. I can’t give my professional advice about the product as I don’t know enough. Do you know the ingredients?? That would be a good start. And get some more fiber and water to aid with your constipation. Who know maybe this formula has fiber in it..

Hi thanks for your reply, it has grape marc extract, l-arabinose, microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), tri-calcium phosphate, magnesium stearate.
I drink 2L of water a day plus 5 cups of flavored water. Probably am lacking in fiber.
I have 2 x 100g full fat greek yogurts a day 1 for lunch and 1 at bedtime and 2 cups of ginger and lemon tea same times as the yogurts.

If you need more fiber, consider eating more whole grains, veggies and fruits. Beans are especially good, avocado's also good. If you're cutting fats to the bare bone, don't: You need fats in your diet to avoid constipation, too. Consider mono- or polyunsaturated fats like olive oil, nuts or nut butters, the avocados again - most people are short on those, long on saturated fats.

Weight loss supplements tend to be remarkably useful . . . at making profits for the people who market them. For actually facilitating weight loss, usually not so much. The marketing on that one looks pretty iffy.

Are you strength training? That will do more for muscle tone than most anything else. Yes, eat enough protein, get overall good nutrition, and don't lose weight too fast. (If taking exercise calories as a bonus takes you much over the half pound/quarter kilogram a week loss rate - based on real loss experience, no matter what the estimates suggest - then eat back some/much of the exercise calories . . . or somehow slow the loss rate to that half a pound/quarter kg a week range. You don't have much weight to lose, and if muscle is important to you, those two factors together mean your best route is to lose weight slowly.

I'm not sold on the specific fiber claims below. While fiber can help with weight loss, there are surely far cheaper forms than this.

But good question, glad you asked!
