Under Normal BMI Aug 4, 2018 throughAug 15, 2022.
Nov 1, 2022 Now over my Normal BMI 9 pounds to lose to get back into it.
Since Nov 19, 2022 Back under Normal BMI!! so basically I was overweight for 3 months of 50 months. That’s a success for me.
Maintenance weight range: 150-159.9 “In the 150’s” This gives me about >5 lbs before I hit Overweight BMI.

**shaving a few grams of foods is

** Excellent CHOL, triglycerides, kidney, glucose etc labs in May 2023!

Some fatigue/ insomnia- both meds related

Waiting to see HA1C next month or so
** Still Not back to 10K steps:
thigh pain, knee pain etc & I never have knee pain. Will ask Dr 6/2/23 who prescribed the statin if that could be the culprit. Feeling sorer & older. Working to find a
solution.

I had severe muscular and joint leg pains when I was put on statins, so it could be that. They stopped when I stopped the statins.

@MadisonMolly2017 , my doctor tried to put me on statins but I was in such pain from my OA that I didn't take them. I was only borderline over the cholesterol guidelines, and he didn't even discuss it properly with me.0

Thank you @TerriRichardson112 & @lesdarts (sorry about OA)
After I told my doctor my sumptons, my doctor told me to stop the statin for one month & if pain goes away, get labs done, and he will place me on an alternate stain that does not cause the leg pain.
He also told me to stop my 1/2 dose of atenolol…because my blood pressure was so low & had very rare dizziness. Today, Day 1, I had more dizziness than ever, moving heavy furniture & a hot day. (?)
The thigh pain disappeared almost immediately!!!
Unfortunately I still have a pain deep in one buttock He said pain from the statin (if caused by the statin) will disappear within a month, so hopefully this one will disappear
too.

Successes/struggles of the week: Happy with myself this week. Very good balance between healthy food and joy food. Lots of selfcare moments. Only struggle is cramps in calfs. I take magnesium and drink plenty of water not sure what else to do.

Success of the week: I was pretty active this week. I had two volunteer dive shifts at the aquarium, and I paddled two 18-mile sections of the river. Over the weekend, I went to the coast and did some beach walking, paddled six miles, part if it in awful wind, along a really nice canoe trail, then hiked a waterfall trail.
A scale success is that my weekly average weight is lower than last week for the first time since I got back from my Grand Canyon raft trip. Whew. Finally. I guess I need the activity.
Struggle of the week: My drysuit flooded very badly at the aquarium.

Struggle: Logging. Is so easy for me (using Meals) so I don't know why. I just forget even though I know it is important for my overall maintenance.

Now more than 2 weeks post-op (hip replacement) and the swelling in my leg is going down, my weight is just over 1 kg higher than pre-op. I’m getting on well with the exercise and walking program. I’m eating sensibly – prioritising protein and calcium for healing – but not worrying about calories.
I did hit a high point of 52 kg a few days after the op when I was suffering fluid retention – leg swollen up like a barrage balloon – and ahem … digestive system retention – a common problem with strong painkillers. It resolved itself and I finished May at around 51 kg.
@TerriRichardson112 and @425Recess - do take care, I can relate to your issues - very common in mature ladies.

Success of the week: I did my first hike up the local peak for the season, and I saw the last of the glacier lilies. I seem to have stopped the gain, but coming back into maintenance is going to be slow. That's OK. Slow is better than going the wrong way.
Struggle of the week: I got invited on a four-day river trip, then the person who invited me found out the permit holder filled the permits before she could tell him I was coming.

Successes/Struggles:
Recovery from surgery is going well. I’m doing all my physiotherapy exercises and walking 30 minutes every day. Pottering around the house without crutches.
I’m not allowed to drive yet and there are restrictions on some movements – eg supposed to sleep on my back, not allowed to bend over to reach down – keep the hip at 90+ degrees – not allowed to cross my legs.
Good news is I’m virtually pain-free, just a bit achy at times. This after several months of maximum paracetamol and ibuprofen every day with pain still constant.3 -

Success of the week: I got in a couple hikes and a couple days of paddling. I seem to be maintaining my current weight. It seems this may be a stable weight that I can maintain fairly easily, so I might once again shift my goal weight closer to my current weight as it's in the healthy BMI range and smack in the middle of the healthy Smart BMI range (takes age and gender into consideration).
Struggle of the week: A very large and delicious burrito.

Struggle of the week: Preparing for a triathlon with heavy carb loading and the event was cancelled due to bad weather conditions. This weight is not going in the right direction.

More than 4 weeks post-op and all is going well.
I was down in the park on Saturday and Sunday, enjoying the sunshine, meeting friends. We have live music in the park on Sunday afternoons in summer and I was able to dance without pain.
Struggles:
Not sleeping well. The surgeon wanted me to sleep on my back for the first 6 weeks, the physiotherapist said I could lie on my side but I have to support the operated leg with pillows between my legs. It’s not very conducive to a relaxed environment, constantly worrying about dislocating my hip while turning over in bed.

Success of the week: I got to help an organization with a big annual event. I was given a physically demanding job that was critical in the event being successful. The staff thanked me very much, and even though I'm sore now, I might do it again next year. Normally they have me help with on-water safety. This weekend I was baggage hauler and mover of tables, chairs, plates, cups, glasses, water, and... All the things.
Struggle of the week: I also helped the same organization with an on-river trash clean-up. It is depressing how much there is, and it keeps coming back.
