How interesting! I see nudibranchs when diving, especially when visibility is awful and we just have to focus on the small stuff. We for sure don't have THOSE. I like to see leopard dorids, white dendrotids, and dironas.

I listened to a podcast yesterday where they mentioned that sheep rustling is such a thing now in northern England that some farmers are dyeing their sheep neon colors so they’re easily recognizable if stolen.

You could have the best of both worlds there.

Just a quick update: Nearly reached my goal. Was off to a good start, but then was slowed down by my thyroid meds needing adjustment, and I was just ravenous. Especially crisps and chocolate bars. All gone now and weightloss worked. Just 900gr to target.

Woops, had a whoosh last night. 400gr to target (though weight will likely stay there now for a bit)

Aww, thanks hun. Or dude? I never know 😬

(I didn't even know I had a newsfeed. My theory for the deletion of this feature is that the power that be tries to get more visible engagement. The forums are down, because who still uses forums, and the newsfeed is not something you can easily sell to whoever. So lets create more engagement on the forums.)

Huh! Always good to know what's going on! Sometimes even helpful if it can help you plan better 😜

I've also found out why I'm "so against" high intensity cardio.... turns out it was a very wise decision to choose walking (ok: adventure walking) over jogging... even if my "so smart" Fitbit thinks my cardio fitness is 49 to 53 🤣 so sometimes **semi** "listening to your body" is not a terrible strategy!🤷‍♂️

Well hopefully as you find out more you'll be able to develop better strategies! 😎

Thanks @PAV8888 Yeah, so far my strategy is to continue as before. But now I know why I'm a snail runner than can't run long. I oddly still enjoy it, mind.

Weight is looking good. I... realized that the big fat padding at my arm pits is not so much fat, but hypertroph muscles. I found out I have no idea how to move my pecs. They just don't exist for me, and everything I do: pushups chest presses are done with this tiny bit of muscle. That explains why it's so difficult for me. Will discuss with surgeon on what we can do there. Yeah, there's certainly a bit of padding, and my insurance will cover a bit of lipo there but the rest needs to look good too (it's top surgery, just fyi). I also have other 'black holes', basically muscles that are totally inactive and that I can't activate. Oh joy. Anyway, summer vacation this week.

Thanks a lot, tiny white writing person 😘 Imagine me sitting in a meeting, trying to move my pecs. Or maybe don't, because it's odd. But yeah, trying to convince them to do anything quite often now 🤣

I have big pillows under my armpits, so I feel ya. They’re odd looking.

Mine are a combo of a large reduction years ago and presumably extra skin from weight loss.

It’s like having an extra pair of side boobs. I just grin and bear it, and tuck them inside the tank or workout bra where they’re not so obvious.

No one notices except me. If they’re staring at your armpits that bad, I figure it’s probably something worse than pit-boobs.

Cue the deep voice singing Beeeee Oooooooo.

Ha, shows my age, that there.

Haha! Oh dear... I should not be laughing, but I'm not laughing! Ah.. mine are not really side boobs but double front boobs. Like the start at the front of the arm pits and go to the front, but are only short. and the actual offending tissue starts after a short flat part. Kind of like a double belly 😅 Maybe I should stick googly eyes on them. 😆

My girls are of an era when uniboobs and unibrow were the worst possible beauty sins.

I ain’t got time for that.

So basically: I'll have top surgery in 4.5 weeks! It took ages to fight with health insurance to get it covered, and the surgeon I wanted has super long waiting times, but somehow when I scheduled the surgery I guessed right how long approval would take 😅 My weight is stable at exactly at where I wanted to be.

    Great news, yirara!

Speaking as myself a flat-top woman (for slightly less completely voluntary reasons), I would think this would be a pretty straightforward surgery. I had 9 lymph nodes removed on one side at the same time as my bilateral mastectomies, and that made it a small bit more difficult . . . but it still wasn't bad at all in the big picture.

I assume you'll get some of the same post-surgery exercises that people like me do, to help keep the tissue stretched out and mobile, minimize scar tissue. My surgery only side (the one that kept its lymph nodes) has been totally fine, no functional issues at all after initial healing. (The other side had radiation therapy, too; and that did cause some scar tissue. But you won't be having that.) I assume you're anticipating lifting limitations right after surgery. I had to prepare for that a little at home in advance, then get help with a few things for a short time.

I hope it will go very well for you, and I wish you speedy healing and a great outcome!

Aww, thanks a lot @AnnPT77 😘 Yeah, I'll have to be very careful at first, and not lift my arms above chest height and loads not above 5kg, but I'm sure it'll work somehow. But yeah, my lymph nodes will obviously remain in place. But I'll likely have a bit of liposuction in front of the arm pits because I have a small heap of weightloss-resistant padding there which looks totally female. I heard that this healing will be more annoying than the whole rest 😅 They'll keep me in hospital for probably 3 days, thus at least I won't need to worry about anything for the first few days. And then I'll take the train home, with the train company offering me help with carrying my bit of luggage when I have to change trains. I'm super excited!

Did they say whether you'd still have surgical drains in when you head home? I did, but that may differ. It's not a big deal (though I was scared about it at first), but it does help if you have some very loose clothing to hide them under. I went with a large-ish t-shirt with a button-up shirt (usually left open) over that, and pinned the drains to the inside of the t-shirt.

An early challenge to consider is hair-washing. (In my case, my sister in law helped with that for a little bit at first.)
