65 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 241 (my 171st). Thank you @quiltingjaine for the new round, as always, so grateful.
Goals for this round to get into 138s solidly, hopefully lose a pound and keep heart rate under 50 beats a minute, then longer term goal to get back to 135 in time for Christmas (less than 7 weeks!).Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

11/07 139.2 – wouldn’t you just know that the last day the scale goes up!! Oh well it is what it is, had a good day yesterday; 13.6 miles walked yesterday, no exercise calories eaten back. Maybe I should include my trend weight (139.6) and see how that progresses. I feel that I am now solidly below 140, my resting heart rate has finally dropped to below 150 to 149 beats per minute & I do feel more in control (although when I’ve said this in the past then invariably that day I’ve started to self-sabotage, this time I intend to stand firm!!) I do feel I have met my goals for this round, roll on the new one!

11/8 138.6 – and back down! No structured walking yesterday as it was raining in the morning so I was unable to walk to my seasonal part-time job (exam. Invigilator at local school) and later met sisters for lunch, but made sensible choices, 200 calories over.
11/9 138.6 - 9 miles walked yesterday, all but 28 exercise calories eaten back - I was hungry all day!!

Also, I’m going to address the emotional 🎢 rollercoaster again by ⚖️ every-other day. Rationally, I know I’ll fluctuate but I need to find out if I was truly over it or just avoiding. Facing that fear.

Unusual day yesterday. Played Tennis then stopped in traffic for 4 1/2 hours. Too late to walk extra steps. Experienced the WORST EVER calf cramping last night. ⬆️ magnesium/potassium today. Simply a no good, very bad, horrible day! 😂 Will travel again today, so not sure how much I can accomplish, but I’ll drink PLENTY 💧 and eat healthy. Will walk and ST🏋️♀️ before 9AM. Looking forward: Friday is scheduled to be a big movement/ stretch day! (On my ME calendar!) Going out with the girls this evening. I’ve already decided what I’ll enjoy - Ceviche and/or grilled shrimp. Rain ahead for wknd & all next week.

GW Maintaining between 124 - 126
Continuing to figure out maintaining, and to work on best nutrition and exercise.
History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have three parents, 88(father), 86(mother), 84(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse. A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

Day/Weight/Comment
11/8 – 127.8 Posted day one for round 241 on round 240. Hope that does not indicate how this round will be.
11/9 – 127.6 Sister and BIL fly in today with expectation of cleaning out my parents’ MA house. Yesterday, while not formally tracking, I paid fairly good attention to my food choices. While my sister is here, that might be as good as I can do. She might be here the whole round, but that is unclear. Goal for the round would be to be back under 126.

Ok, new round, and I’m really aiming to clean up my act. I know I’ve said that round after round and just haven’t gotten it together. I’m up 12 pounds from the beginning of the year when I wanted to go 20 pounds the other way. I am trying not to beat myself up over it, but I have to figure out why I’ve been self-sabotaging, not just in terms of weight but other things as well. I’ve never been like this. But I’m going to try really hard this round to get back to eating responsibly and writing every day. Really. Really really. (Anyone have any reading recommendations on self-sabotage?)

Right direction, if embarrassingly high. I’m off in a few minutes to pick up ingredients for a big pot of vegetable soup so I can freeze “soup muffins” for low-cal lunches. DH is making fettuccine with clam sauce tonight, so I’m having a salad for lunch. It’s gorgeous out, so I see a nice long walk in my day. Oh, and I knitted Charlie a sweater. 😊

We ALL have good rounds and bad but that is part of life. Don’t stay away, stay accountable. We don’t judge, we support.-Jpv,2/13/19
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

11/9 128.5 DH was elected president of the board. This is going to be a rough year. After at least a year of “us vs them” his goal is to turn it back into the friendly community it was a couple of years ago and to rein in the crazy spending of the past board, most recently $18K for 12 chairs! All hugs and prayers are appreciated.6 -

11/07 …..183.6….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
11/08 -182.6- (Trend weight 184.1) I find it so interesting, amazing even, all the different approaches to weight loss in these challenges. A food that one will not touch another wants more of in their diet. Some calorie intakes are double what others are eating and still they lose weight at a steady and safe rate. Truly there is more than way to conquer. Many of us have health issues that lead to certain diets etc. It seems key that we have to self-reflect. Whatever got us into this mess (carbs or calories or lack of fruits/veggies, or lack of exercise), this is what we must reverse to reverse the damage it has caused. Each one of our stories are as different as our approaches. All paths are right. I just want each and every one of you to know how much I appreciate you for how you open your homes, your families, your struggles, your achievements, your research, your medical histories, your lives with the the rest of us. You are helping so many and making such a tremendous difference, not just in your own lives, but in the lives of the rest of us too. Thank you for that. Truly, thank you. Good luck this round everyone!
11/09 -183.2- (Trend weight 184.0) Gosh I was so hungry all day yesterday and last night (very late, 2:00 AM) it hit me hard. I tried a handful of nuts but this time it didn’t help. I finally broke down and made a turkey sandwich on “diet” low carb/calorie bread without the mayo and that took care of it but caused me to eat back some of my exercise calories which I try not to do. Early weigh-in this morning so it showed up on the scale. I am traveling for an overnight on Friday/Saturday down to Kalamazoo Michigan for a Lewis Black comedy show with my oldest daughter. There will be lots of travel & show sitting, hotel and restaurant foods and no real chance to exercise. I will post Friday morn before I go and again on Saturday night when I return. I will not have weights for Sat and may skip it on Sun too for a buffer day. Thank you so much to all that sent condolences on the loss of my beautiful cat Harriet. I found comfort in your words and thoughtful insights.

My goal for this go around is to find the number on the scale to be smaller than today’s number. Hoping for the 137’s. I have several birthday events this go around, including my own, so this may take some creativity! Will continue to keep my steps 👣 above 10,000, guzzle the 💧water, log my ✏️ food, and hit the gym at least 3 times a week. No munching 🚫 after 8:00 pm and limit my alcohol 🍷 intake. Come on people! 11/9: 139.8. Not too happy about this, but I know I did everything right yesterday. I ate well, stayed within my calorie goal, went for a morning walk and a run at night. So I'm just going to chalk it up to daily fluctuations. I was slightly higher on carbs yesterday and I'm a bit sore from increasing my runs recently, so it's likely I'm retaining some extra water.

11/08 - 155.5
11/09 - 154.8 - Better. I was well behaved yesterday. I drank all my water, started my lunch off with a soup and didn't overeat, despite being out. Dinner was light, though no veggies (just potatoes so not a total loss). Thankfully my lunch had some. Tonight is steak bites as the grill broke while cooking last night (it's old and the weld failed) and its raining so want to keep it indoors. Lunch will be the last of the Birdseye Voila frozen meal (chicken stir fry). Breakfast was an open-faced sandwich of lemon pepper salmon with scrambled egg on whole wheat toast. No walk due to rain today (and walking pad still scheduled for Monday - it's supposed to be raining Monday as well, boo) but I did do a strength workout and pedaled on the bike for 15 minutes. I've only run as much as 25 minutes/2 miles in one go in preparation for this 5k so I'm a tad worried about adding the extra 12-14minutes/1 mile to it without extra training. Hopefully it won't be too awful.

Previous Day's Comments11/08 - I had a self-sabotage night. BF made homemade guac and he brought out chips so I splurged on chips & guac while making dinner. Then he asked if I'd like to help him finish off the last of the ice cream and I said yes without thinking. I took m lactose pills but I was 750 (estimated) calories over goal for the day and lactose pills don't help with water retention from salt. Plus, it was too dark to take the dogs for a walk after dinner so I didn't get my step goal, either. Better today - no Wet Wednesday as there's a conflict so we're having chicken quarters for dinner with whatever sides we have at home (frozen or canned veggies included. Better than no veg!). Leftover chicken stir fry for lunch and breakfast was a fruit&protein smoothie with chia, flax, and greek yogurt. I only managed half of it. I ran 20 minutes this morning as well, since the 5k is in 10 days and I took a week and a half off of running between travel and weather! That 20 minutes was terribly challenging so I'm hoping that my efforts this week into early next will be enough to get me through to completing the 5k without stopping (even if I don't PR or even get close to June's PR. Circumstances have changed a lot)

I'm 30F and committed to wondering less about the scale and wondering instead about how great it's going to be when my daily healthy practices are so normal that it would be weird not to do them, even on vacations or holidays. It has been nice so far.
My original goal pants are within reach and I hope to be able to post a picture of a before and after with them this round or next.
My strategy has been: All home cooked foods and no added fats or sugar or alcohol. Potatoes and legumes make up most of my caloric base. More vegetables and less meat. Logging 1500-1800 calories a day with Saturday and/or Sunday as refeed day(s) where I have maximum 2500 calories if I'm feeling like I need it. ST as much as I can and walking as much as I can.

About Me:This is my thirteenth round and really appreciate having someplace to stay accountable.
Thanks to a medication I'm on for my mental health and an overeating habit, I managed to gain a lot of weight in the last year or so. On July 4, I stepped on the scale for the first time since I started the med (that is known to cause weight gain) and decided enough was enough. I buckled down and started actually recording my food for the first time in over five years and started walking every day. Now I need motivation to keep going. I'm a mom of five and grandma of one 4yo that I babysit during the week when my daughter is working. We live in the Pacific Northwest where we're entering the rainy season which makes walking a lot harder, and it's my main form of exercise right now. I do have access to gym equipment at our HOA clubhouse, but I still have to walk there and back (takes about 9 minutes).

11/8 - 220.4 - 3.82 miles - Made pizza tonight. As always, it's a long, arduous project, but so worth it in the end. I made a half pizza for myself with fat free mozzarella and turkey pepperoni. It didn't look very appealing because the cheese didn't really melt well (as expected), but it tasted surprisingly good. I think it was the extra stuff I put in the sauce. I'm stuffed and sore all over. Started cooking at 3:30 and sat down to eat a little before 6pm after cleaning up the kitchen except for where the cut pizzas are (will clean that later). I shouldn't have to cook until Saturday I think. There are a lot of leftovers (besides the pizza). Tomorrow I have a job interview and I'm getting really nervous. I need this job because it's the only place I can get to without a car, but also the thought of going back to work after almost 24 years is terrifying.
11/9 - 220.0 - 2.77 miles (walk) - 4.2 miles (bike) - My job interview went great. Basically the hiring manager said she'd give me the job right there on the spot but then told me to go home, talk with my family (because me working for the first time in almost 24 years is a huge adjustment) and call her in the morning with my decision. I'll be working the seafood counter which is exactly what my last job was in 2000. The hours will hopefully be 1-9:30 with Wed/Thur off (those are days I have to be home to watch my grandson). I'm not exactly thrilled to go back to work after all this time, but I'm focusing on having extra money to spend on things I enjoy. Also, my weight was down despite the pizza last night so I had a really good day. And I got to talk to my middle daughter for a bit. She turned 21 yesterday and is coming in to town tomorrow to visit.

11/8: 269.2 this morning! I am hoping this puts me firmly in the 260's. Woke up this morning to news that we are going to need home repairs - kind of stressing. However, I am looking forward to baking these acorn squash--If imma be stress eating it will at least be some high fiber vitamin packed healthy business 😄
11/9: 269.2. I am still in the 260s. I was kind of excited to get on the scale at the doctor's office to see if I had actually lost weight or if my scale is lying, and I really did lose weight! Soooo busy today. Not a minute of downtime. The kid requested an orange basque cheesecake for birthday time, so that was a fun challenge. I've never made one before so i am so curious to see how it turns out. I get to be a sneaky sneak and wrap the presents in the morning while everybody is asleep 🥷 We've also got the party coming up on Saturday and all of the kids will probably not eat the cheesecake, so I'm making cupcakes tomorrow after dinner.
