Hello all
Happy New Year 2024! May this year bring you much love, health and great friendships to support your goals!
I’ve done this before and it’s very successful as a group! -so we support each other and check in and help each other remain accountable !
Goal is to try and lose up to 10 pounds this month. Average is 1-2 pounds a week but some people may lose more because of various reasons (water retention etc). We focus one week at a time! This month I am starting the challenge on December 31st but all subsequent challenges will have the Sundays of that given month!
In order to lose weight you need to eat better and increase physical activity-so let’s do it!
Also, If anyone has ideas to share or needs support you can do so throughout the week in the comments!
1. Accept the challenge by copy/pasting the paragraph below.
2. Weigh-in yourself every Sunday of the week. You can log and share your weight but you don’t have to. What you share are the pounds lost.
3. Try and use Fitnesspal Diary to log your food within your fitness goals.
4. Try to increase physical activity goals ie can be anything more walking. Main goal is to progress.
5. Remain positive, have fun and celebrate every step towards a healthier YOU! ❤️

Drank 4 cups of water before going to sleep -I realize how much I need to hydrate. Wasn’t great right before bed but I’m taking note of the water !1

My name is Carole, age 65, height 5'3", living alone and working full-time in the Metro Boston area (MA). I plan to keep my food diary on MFP daily and to totally abstain from drinking any alcoholic beverages. I generally walk to and from work on most days (2.2 miles each way at average 4mph) but I plan to do other activities as well.

I don't think I can lose 10 lbs. by February due to my current weight; however, I do hope to lose at least 5 lbs. this month. I will post my scale stats each Sunday in order to remain accountable to the team. Here goes:
I don't like how the scale app says my body fat percentage is still obese and that my "Metabolic Age" is 68, but there it is. Oh, well...ONWARD!

after several OPs and menopause I have gained so much weight! I have not been this heavy since I was pregnant 16 years ago! I feel ok about myself but not the way I feel moving. So thank you for the support and accountability. Looking for buddies as well.

Morning All,
A strong start to the new regime…and rewards well above my expectations. Not resting on my laurels though - pushing on for the whole month!

Good morning everyone, it's a snowy day here in Boston with up to 7 inches expected. Looks like I gained a bit over the past week but I haven't been very active and I did drink alcohol on Friday (and also had a large meatball sub):

I plan to be very careful this week so I can pick up the peace and lose at least one pound by next Sunday.

So weighed myself throughout the week and I was less than this morning -but I do feel lighter even though I’m just recording a -0.4pd weight loss. Need to stay focused! Btw, drinking more water has been a real game changer for me for digestion and energy.

This has surprised me, but I'm finally refocusing on my nutrition and exercise for probably the first time properly since 2020, so I suspect at least some of this is water weight and general fluctuation. Still really pleased though!2
