I started a compounded version of Mountjaro . Tomorrow is dose #2 at 0.5 g. Pretty nervous about it because my first week I had some nausea, headache and very low energy for 2-3 days post injection. Prior to starting this medication, I had been on a calorie deficit for 3 months prior , consuming about 110 grams of protein per day , and back into a regular excercise program. Overall I was doing ok on my own but was getting stuck .. and discouraged. (doing everything right and nothing is moving the scale) I had lost 10 -12 lbs in 3 months time . I finally consulted my doc and a nutritionist and because of some orthopedic issues I decided this might be a good way to keep me on the right path for a while until I get down to a more reasonable weight . The medication definitely stopped the sweet tooth issues and cravings dead .. which is nice to not be stressing over.

Hello everyone...just starting my journey with the injections. Im no stranger to weight loss and MFP but planning to change for good this time. I have Mounjaro but don't start til later this week when I can meet with my provider. I'm 66 years old and have numerous health problems including T2D. I already take Jardiance for the diabetes which works great but I need to lose alot of weight for my other health problems. I'm a little nervous of all the side effects but I'm pretty much at rock bottom so here I am.

How are you doing after your first shot? I hope you are one of the lucky ones who do not have too many side effects!

Mine have been minimal. Constipation is the main one I experience but adding Magnesium Oxide (Mag07 brand) to my nightly routine has kept that problem at bay. The only other minor things I experience are that some foods taste "off". I can't describe it, but it's a good thing. They don't taste as yummy so I eat less. And finally, the past week I have been experiencing fatigue (I'm 12 weeks in). I am going to try more exercise and protein to see if that helps.
