Fantastic @TheMrWobbly on your marathon finish. LOVE the meetup pic with @tarun_yadavA!
Got in 8 miles this afternoon, but was going for 10. Had to do the walk of shame home for 2 miles because I just wasn't feeling it.

Congratulations on your 10K @daria0919! You worked hard on your training plan and you did great! Congrats to hubby too! I have run the Richmond Marathon and the Half Marathon and you simply can’t beat the course support in Richmond. They really know how to treat runnners!
Congratulations on another well done race @martaindale and you look simply adorable! Glad you and your friend were able to visit Magic Kingdom and enjoy the sights.
Love the meet-up photo @tarun_yadavA and @TheMrWobbly! You were looking strong @TheMrWobbly!
No shame in calling it short @Scott6255. Much better to play it smart and listen to your body than to push on to some number.

We had rain and thunderstorms all day yesterday, but today was really nice. It was 52°F feels like 50° when I started out and about 59° when I finished up. There were still some clouds, but there was plenty of sun and enough wind to keep it cool. I ran 11 miles. I ran on some dirt roads and some hills to practice for the trail race coming up next month.
Congratulations on your first marathon @themrwobbly! Love the picture of you and @tarun_yadavA!

The theme for the challenge was Stitch's 'Ohana Challenge so I went for Hawaiian themed running clothes rather than a more complicated costume. Heat is manageable for a shorter distance but I wanted to be as comfy as possible for the 10 miler. Glad I did because it was the grossest morning we've had so far. Mega humid. I felt the temp drop a bit around the halfway point, right before the first hints of sunrise, which was very welcome!
My legs were tired this morning and my feet were sore from all the extra time in the parks yesterday. It didn't feel as easy as my pace suggests. It was one of the most crowded courses I've ever run. I got into my corral at about the same time but a lot of people arrived earlier today. Being towards the back meant a couple thousand extra people ahead of me. They also released the waves closer together because they were anticipating the heat and that added to us being all bunched up.
I ran at the pace I could depending on the crowds and tried not to weave too much but I still picked up a couple of tenths. After I finished, I didn't waste time at the finish line. I basically grabbed my gear check bag, medal, water and got on a bus.
We went to Epcot today. My legs held up better than I thought they would. We both started getting tired about 4 and headed back to relax and start packing. It was a fun weekend. I hadn't seen my friend in several years. This trip was a great way to reconnect and I think we will stay in touch after it's over.

Nice recovery run @Laurz9191 . Don't do too much too fast and get injured.....I know you know that, but a reminder can't hurt.
@tarun_yadavA I hope your wife helped you....I'm assuming Deep Heat is something like IcyHot or Bengay here in the states. Great running.
CONGRATULATIONS @daria0919 ! Great race for both you and your hubby. Love the pictures. That's a huge race and you did great with your finish in the top 40%! Sounds like a really great, fun race. Sorry it was so hot and humid though. It shouldn't be this time of the year!
Great 10K for you and your friend @martaindale! Love your outfit. Good luck tomorrow.
Nice run @7lenny7 . I think that is a wise decision. Happy wife. Happy life!
Awww. @tarun_yadavA and @TheMrWobbly . I'm so happy to see that you found each other and that Tarun ran a little too. That's a great picture. @TheMrWobbly You don't look like you have run 10 miles already.
@eleanorhawkins Glad you made it home. Recovering from a trip is hard. I hope you can figure out your training with your new work schedule.
I'm sorry you had to cut your run short @Scott6255 . I hope you aren't getting sick.
Nice run this morning @Teresa502 . I did get rain this morning. Guess it stayed south of you.
Great running @kgirlhart .
Cute outfit @martaindale . I'm glad you had such a fun weekend with your friend.
Congrats on your marathon @TheMrWobbly !

I didn't get a chance to post last night. Yesterday, I did a treadmill walk in the morning and then played tennis in the afternoon/evening. I had taken mom to her grandson's to visit while I played....and I visited with them too, so it was late when we got home. My partner and I won one set, lost the second, and then lost the 3rd set tie break. But, it was fun and I played well.
My nephew's wife, Emilie, mom and her great-grandson, Shawn, and my nephew. They had cooked burgers and saved me one for after the match.
Today, we went to church, I ate, and went to play league tennis again. Different partner. We lost too, in two sets, but both went to tie breaks. So close! Again, it was fun. The weather was ever changing during the match. I started out with long sleeves and a jacket. Soon got rid of the jacket. After the first set, the sun came out and it got hot, so I stealthily took my long sleeved shirt off and put on a short sleeved one I had during a change over. Only one of the other players saw me do any of it, and that was pulling the long sleeved out from under the other one. It's a new skill I learned today. Then the wind picked up and I thought about getting my jacket again, but it calmed down, so didn't.
When I got home, I did a treadmill walk to keep the streak going.7 -
Morning all
Ran 7.49M (at 09"32).
@quilteryoyo thank you! Well done on forcing both sets to Tie breaks!
(Speaking of ties... Now tied you for 2 Face-to-face meetups! 😜 )
Lovely pic of your mother plus fam!
@Scott6255 you're a champ! 🥊
No worries about calling time and walking back.
You'll be back stronger!
@martaindale well done on the series of Disney runs!
@Laurz9191 good to see you back!
@kgirlhart hope you had a nice bday!
@TheMrWobbly well done again, mate! Look forward to hearing about your post run pig out meal6 -

I got in 6 miles this morning. The temp was a little chillier than it has been at 36F. I guess it's still too early to put away the long pants and the gloves - at least not too far away that they can't be dug out easily.
4 -
Nice cool 48F temps this morning. Tried to take it easy. Felt a lot better.

Hi everyone!
It was snowing here this morning (!) but had stopped by the time I went on my run. Had to get my gloves and jacket on but I was just glad to be out running in whatever weather. I ran 10.3km.
Great job on your races @martaindale ! You are definitely the best dressed runner I know . It sounds like it was a really fun trip too!
@TheMrWobbly Congratulations on completing your marathon!!!! Looking forward to hearing about your race! It’s really cool you actually could find @tarun_yadavA during the race and take a picture. It looks like you were having fun.
@Scott6255 I’m sorry to hear about your walk of shame but glad you were able to get back out there and have a better experience the next day.
128.4/200km for April.3 -
Hahaha and thanks @tarun_yadavA . I need to find someone else to meet. Great running and it was great that you got to get a selfie with @TheMrWobbly !
Great running @Teresa502 . It was a bit nippy this morning!
@Scott6255 I'm glad today's run felt a lot better!
Wow, snow @Laurz9191 ! That's crazy. I'm glad you got out for a nice run though.

Nice running @mari333a . I started it on Jan 12 2021, the day I got home from my aneurysm repair open heart surgery. I missed one day in 2021 when I had the stomach flu, May 9th. So, technically speaking, it restarted then and I would be at 1080 days today! Almost 3 years without missing a day.6

I went to the gym this morning. Only new thing I did was reverse tire pull - pulling the tire up the hill while walking backwards. It's harder than it sounds. Much harder than pulling forward.
When I got home, I did a short treadmill session because I was supposed to play tennis tonight. Unfortunately, the tennis got cancelled. I did run the entire 1.25 miles, but not at a constant pace. I did 1/1 min at 6.5 X 5.0/4.2 mph, then 5.2/4.2/5.2 mph. I was aiming for under 13:00 min/mile. I barely did that - 12:56 min/mile was the avg pace. Avg HR was 133 with a max of 145 bpm.6 -
Looking great, @TheMrWobbly and @tarun_yadavA ! Congrats on the race, @TheMrWobbly
Congrats on the three races, @martaindale ! Did your friend dress to the themes as well? Sounds like a fantastic weekend.
A great looking family, @quilteryoyo . Glad you're having fun with tennis. Your streak is amazing!
I skipped my run yesterday since I had too much work to do on our boat. As always, I never got as much done as I thought I would. Even worse, as I was contorting myself to scrub the bottom of the boat I did something to my elbow and now have pain whenever I try to straighten it. Between that, the amount of work I have at work, and at home, I decided I'm going to take the rest of the week off from running. Maybe next week too.

Still waiting for the iron tablets to kick in. I am feeling better mentally (brain fog is lifting) and the restless legs have gone while I’m sleeping however, the stamina for exercise has yet to show up. I went for a short run this morning while my daughter was at a dance lesson. It was a beautiful day out and I was in a very pretty spot but I still can’t really be arsed. Annoying.7
-
@ContraryMaryMary I'm glad you're seeing some improvements and hopefully you get your running mojo back soon. Oh, and SAILBOATS! That looks like a beautiful anchorage.3
-
Hello everyone!
Got in 5.7M (at 09"48).5 -
That is a beautiful spot @contrarymarymary! Sometimes when we don't feel like running, walking will suffice for the moment. The important thing is that you got out there when you could have been sitting around waiting for your daughter.
Hope the elbow heals soon @7lenny7 and that life's other stresses give you a break also.4 -

I didn't post yesterday, so I am posting two runs. Yesterday it was cold at 44°F. I had to pull out my sleeves and gloves. It was a nice morning though, and I ran 3.2 miles. I was on track for negative splits, but as I was coming through the park I came up behind my neighbor and startled him and he jumped. So I stopped and spoke to him for a moment so my last mile was slower.
Today's run was perfect running weather at 59°F. The moon was beautiful when I headed out. And it got light as I ran so it was daylight when I got home. I ran 6 miles and would have loved to keep on running.

I’ve finally seen the GP about my low iron (I had a blood test and saw the results and have been self medicating as today’s appointment was the earliest I could see the doctor again). Paid $79 to be told I have low iron and that the over-the-counter tablets I selected were better than the ones she could prescribe so I should stick with them. 🙄.8
-
Ugh @ContraryMaryMary ... that's why I don't go to doctors Unless something falls off of me, doctors don't seem to be all that helpful.
Preparing to got out of town tomorrow for the rest of the week, so just did a short 5 TM miles. Hoping to get maybe 1 run in, so it's still possible I will hit my monthly goal.
7 -
@martaindale congrats on all your runs! And all your costumes were great! Great 10-miler pace!
@TheMrWobbly congrats on your super marathon race and your PR! Way to go!
@ContraryMaryMary sorry to hear about your low energy/iron. Glad you figured it out and I hope the iron pills help. I agree with @Scott6255 with regards to doctors.
@Teresa502 what years did you run your marathons and half marathons in Richmond? Maybe be we were both there at the same time. 😀. Great runs!
@kgirlhart great runs!
@7lenny7 enjoy your break from running!
@Laurz9191 wow! Snow! How cool! 😆
@quilteryoyo nice streak!
@Scott6255 enjoy your trip!
Thanks to all of you for cheering me on. It means a lot.
Had an evening 1.55 mile walk with the hubby.
8 -
Thanks @7lenny7 . I hope your elbow gets better quickly. It isn't tennis elbow from repeated motion, is it? Good idea to rest and get some of the pre-summer stuff done.
@ContraryMaryMary That is a beautiful place to run. I hope the iron fully kicks in soon. Well, that is expensive knowledge, but at least you know.
Great run @tarun_yadavA !
Nice running @kgirlhart !
Have a great trip @Scott6255 !
Thanks. Nice walk with the hubby @daria0919 .

I ran/walked during my break at work today. I walked 5 min warm up, then did a run/walk of 1/1 min until I hit two miles, then walked half a mile for cool down. The run/walk avg pace was 12:37 min/mile. I was happy with that, since it didn't seem too hard. I wasn't wanting to sweat excessively, since I was going back to work. Avg HR was 128 with a max of 155 bpm.
After work, I went to the gym for a workout. My arms are still tired. I'm probably going to be sore tomorrow, but a good sore.7 -
My youngest had football training this evening so I took the opportunity to run suburban streets while I could. And what a run! Felt amazing, like I was flying - it was so easy. Felt like my form was perfect. First time I’ve felt like this in many many months. The iron must be starting to work and no doubt the couple of hours I spent stretching/yoga/rolling last night helped a lot, but I suspect it’s simply follicular phase doing its thing. Love runs like this.9
