How long has it been? Have you just recently started exercising? Are you weighing solid food on a food scale and measuring liquids?

If you have just started in the last several weeks, give it time.
Make sure you are measuring your food accurately as possible, including oils, dressings, butter, etc.

It’s tough to start because you probably know it’s calories in vs calories out, but how do you know how many calories you are burning??

Finding your body fat % is a good way to find out approximately how many calories you’re burning at rest(with zero activity)

A nutrition coach can help you to find this info out, but if that’s not available you can start somewhere you feel comfortable like 2500 calories per day, 33% cals from each protein, fat, carbs to start. Then decrease total cals per day every couple weeks until the scale tells you that you are truly losing weight.

If you like watching videos on YouTube, Jeff Nippard has a great channel for lots of weight loss info https://youtube.com/@jeffnippard?si=r3Bz2khF8o-O-eE4

Biggest bang for your buck is in the kitchen. Are you using a digital food scale? I use one for everything - strawberries, cheese, cereal, etc

Usually when people aren't losing weight as quickly as they expect, it's either that their expectations are unrealistic (i.e. expecting to be like Biggest Loser) or they are not being accurate in counting calories in and calories out.

If you are eyeballing portions, then you are probably eating more than you think. If you are cutting back without any measurement or weight, then you are definitely eating more than you think. If you assume that a 3 mile walk will counter eating a donut afterwards, then you are overestimating the calorie burn in walking.

How much weight have you actually lost in the last 5 weeks?
