In order for me to lose 80 pounds, I had to eat less.
Move more.
Log your food. Study your food diary.
Also, here's an interesting Group you can join or read: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/133315-larger-losers0 -
Hey William! I am just getting started, 38 and have a goal to lose 175. Would love to have you along for the journey and help each other out. Feel free to add me!0

My advice would be- to establish the long term goal (you did this) and also short term goals that you will regularly update. Maybe start with a 10 or 20lbs lost short term goal.
Reward yourself when you meet short term goals.
Weekly cheat-meals work for almost everybody, but I'd avoid cheat "days".
This is a moving target. You'll need to adjust as you go.
Be patient- this whole process for you may take between 1 & 2 years.0
