@kgirlhart You are doing great motivating yourself to get out when you don't really want to.

@tarun_yadavA I hope you don't have too much jet lag. Great job on the run.

...is anyone still thinking about a marathon meetup next year? A long time ago we discussed possibly the TX group doing the BCS marathon in College Station. It should be early December 2025.

I'd be down! I'd probably opt for the half but would love to meet up with anyone whose willing to come.

@martaindale and @Scott6255 I'd love to meet up and could possibly do the HM. But, it depends on timing. The T-Minus 10 miler at the Cape is the second Sat in Dec. If they are different weekends, maybe? It depends on how training goes.

Nice running @martaindale . I saw the picture of the lake on Strava. It's beautiful. I'd probably run that often if it were in my neighborhood.

    Dec 1 - Walked 1.00 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - treadmill
    Dec 2 - Walked 0.50 miles - Ran 2.00 miles - treadmill
    Dec 3 - Walked 0.50 miles - Ran 2.50 miles - treadmill

    6.50/80 mile goal

I had to drop Tippy off at the groomer before 9 this morning. Mom went with me and then we drove to Knoxville to a Warby Parker to order me some new prescription glasses. We did a little more shopping before heading back to pick up Tippy. She sure was vocal when we picked her up...not sure if she was happy to see us or cussing me out for making her get a bath. LOL

She sure is soft and smells nice. Hopefully they got all of that shedding undercoat off.

When I got home, I did a treadmill run. I walked quarter mile for warm up and cool down. The run was at 5.0/4.0 mph for 4/1 min and 6.0 for the last 1m36s. Avg pace was exactly what it was yesterday, 12:16 min/mile. Avg HR was 131 with a max of 154 bpm. Actually felt pretty easy, but I didn't want to do a longer run since I am planning on my last long run before the race either being tomorrow or Thursday.

@quilteryoyo Tippy looks beautiful after her spa day :)
@martaindale I'm not sure when registration starts for the 2025 BCS marathon. This year's race is this weekend, so probably will open up after the race. But I'm not married to that race. I would consider doing Houston again if that was easier for you. It is a very well organized event and I haven't done that one in several years. I'm open to anything really.

Got in a nice 6.2 miles after work. It was a pleasant 61F and light wind. It felt easier than most of my previous runs lately. But Yikes! Garmin shows calories burned 666 😈

I think registration for the BCS Marathon usually opens in May with early-bird registration opening in December of the previous year.

Thanks @Scott6255 . Great run after work yesterday, except for that calorie count. Yikes.

Great job getting out for some walks @emptydog .

@ContraryMaryMary I'm sorry your calf is still acting up, but glad it is on the mend. Hopefully it will be back to normal soon.

    Nice run @kgirlhart .

    In for 50 again
    02/12 3.15 miles
    04/12 3.21 miles

    Total 6.36/50 miles

I’ve done 2 treadmill runs 5km so far. Our hotel is on the beach & is lovely. We’ve done a camel ride & booked into the spa for full treatment on Friday.

@ContraryMaryMary I feel ur pain. My foot is still aching & still swelling after running so then I limping. Grrr it’s frustrating 😅Im going to get it checked when I get home.

Here some photos so far of Tunisia

3 Dec 2.89km ice rink walk with another mum during the kids training
4 Dec 7.89km in 1h (7:36/km pace) easy run from my training plan. I was happy to manage this run between finishing work and my youngest coming home on the school bus, it's nice to make the most of running in day light

@mari333a thanks for sharing the pics!

@ContraryMaryMary I hope that calf heals settles down soon.

@quilteryoyo love the pic of Tippy ♥️

    Great runs all!!

My MRI results are posted. Looks like pretty much what Dr and I thought all along. All ligaments are intact, which is good. Basically, I have mild tendinitis of my Achilles tendon (which we didn’t know) and mild tendinitis in various other tendons. Main thing is (as quoted from the report): Mild tendinosis and moderate tenosynovitis of the posterior tibialis. Also, still a fair amount of edema (fluid, swelling) in that area as well. So, will probably still take some time for it to settle down. The “moderate” part is dealt with by the use of my walking boot, rest, ice etc. and eventually some physical therapy as I keep recovering. So happy to note that I don’t seem to have any major tears. The moderate tenosynovitis is typically indicative of small tears, so probably not anything that needs surgery, just time to heal.

Love the pictures @Mari33a ! You look great! That food looks delicious.

Nice run @Emilienewme ! Great that you worked it in around your other obligations.

Thanks @daria0919 . That sounds like great news from the MRI! I hope the time to recover passes quickly.

    December Goal: 125 miles

    12/1: 10.02 miles
    12/2: 3.26 miles
    12/3: 6.02 miles
    12/4: 6.02 miles

    25.32/125 miles completed for December

I ran 6 miles this morning. It was 54°F. I liked that much better than the 32° and 34° of the last couple of days.

    Lovely photos @Mari33a.

    Great news @daria0919.
