Woke up at 4am with my body screaming Dunkin. Convinced myself to calm down, consider making a pot of decaf at home, then decide. It worked! Ended up with a turkey sandwich at home.

So now I know it might work if I just try!

It's also getting warm enough to walk outside. "Town", a main intersection with 2 banks, a quick mart, and lots and lots of food, is about 1/2 mile from my house. I thought I'd walk up there, eat and rest, then walk back one day soon. So I started thinking about where I could eat that didn't have a drive thru. โ€”โ€”- does everything have drive thrus these days? My choices went from about 20 to 2. Waffle house or Subway. Neither a particular favorite, but both clean and good quality for what they offer. I would recommend both. Not sure I want to do either. Hmmmm.

Good job! Dunkin can be super hard to resist in the morning so I understand the struggle lol.

After a few months, it became a lot easier for me to resist because I no longer automatically think about drive thrus as an option while out. At first, I was thinking about Dunkin or something, in mornings, and then having to catch myself and remember the challenge. It does make it a ton easier to have a lot of slow-food restaurants around!

inspiring with the new food choices!

maintaining fast food free here.. instead of drive thrus- I have to be careful with uber and deliveries! No more desperation Starbucks.

been reflecting on the other food choices as well..

No problem where to go to today. Wind gusts up to 70. Good day to stay home and cook.

We're having weather warnings, here, as well. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I did buy, recently, a burger and fries at a regular restaurant for the first time in ages..not the healthiest meal/ twice as expensive but tasted 10xs better than the fast food burgers.

In addition to the emergency coffee clause, I'm adding if a senior citizen offers to take me out to Captain D's for driving them to a Dr's appt. ๐Ÿ’•

Helping out someone who doesn't/can't drive and trying to make it enjoyable for them is definitely worth an override.

No exercise class today, so I walked to "town". Was contemplating whether to get a fruit and yogurt swirl or a chocolate frozen yogurt at Braums when I realized it was such a pretty day I could sit on Sonic's "patio" and drink coffee.

It's getting easier to avoid fast food. I just can't stop or even slow down the coffee and iced tea. So I'm making my challenge no fast food at drive-thru. All drinks, milk, bread, etc. At quick marts allowed. Baby steps.

Luckily, there's a few gas stations with decent coffee around here I've been frequenting since I started working mornings in town! It has been challenging with the Dunkin right across the street, though!!!:)

Well I failed already. Left the house this morning to get Prep'd. (Healthy deli near me) They don't have coffeeโ€”only cold food. I knew if I went to Dunkin, I'd get a wake up wrap, so I headed to Wendy's instead. Couldn't help myself. Had an egg and cheese English muffin and potatoes. They were out of coffee, so I still went to Dunkin. The good thing is that I got enough breakfast at Prep'd for at least 5-6 days.

Pick myself up, dust myself off, try again.

You inspire me. If you can, I can. It may take me longer, but I can.

I joined a walking group here and committed to walking 3 days a week. It's supposed to be super hot today, so I decided I'd get up and walk to "town " for breakfast. Subway opens at 10 and I like breakfast about 7. That leaves zero healthy breakfast ideas. I thought of Braums fruit and yogurt swirl, but I didn't trust myself. One little slip and I would be eating the big country breakfast, which I โค๏ธ. So I decided Burger King was as good as it was gonna get. I ordered a small breakfast burrito without potatoes. It was good. Comparable to a Dunkin wrap. When I got home and looked it upโ€”WOW! Over twice as many calories as a Dunkin wrap and 25 g fat! Of course that's with potatoes, so mine wasn't quite that bad, but WOW! No wonder our whole nation is so overweight.

So now I have to figure out a better walk for hot days.

I'd like to join a walking group..maybe when my daughter leaves for college!

I think the Dunkin wrap is the healthiest breakfast for fast food. I used to just get the egg and cheese and that's all they put on it..tortilla, egg, and cheese..not even mayo:D

That's the Dunkin I like and get. But it's not walking distanceโ€”no sidewalk, busy road, lots of tall weeds. I should check out Taco Bell's breakfast choices. There's a doughnut shop that used to have kolaches. I've never had a kolache. (Not that kind, anyway). Are they good? Healthy? Maybe I'll check them out.

Correct name klobasnek? Love, love, โค๏ธ real kolaches, but special occasions only.

We forgot about our challenge and ordered 2 warm Krispy cream glazed Donuts! Is this covered by coffee shop clause? โ˜•๏ธโœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

Minor uh oh in front of Wendy's when I drove by just now. Made me realize that I don't even think about a quick burger anymore. I can't remember the last time I had a fast food burger. Months.

Now breakfast, that's another story. Dunkin this morning. I had things in the fridge, freezer. I bought some home baked sourdough last night at farmers market. I don't care for white grocery store bread. But I love โค๏ธ good sourdough. At 5am, I don't think; I just head for COFFEE.

Anyway, baby steps are working for me. Will the next step be Dunkin for coffee, home for breakfast? Maybe I can go to oncue for coffee. They don't have food before the grill opens at 7 or 8 that tempts me.

I've already pretty much decided to do a 2026 Zero Fast Food after 10:30 AM Challenge. Since I work outside the home, now, and hardly ever eat early, sometimes a 10AM coffee and quick biscuit sounds really good. The rest, I could do without forever.. I'm going to try to make it 6 more months, though!:)

You've gotta stick with it cause you're my mentor. I keep telling myself if it can be done, I can do it! Not yet, but I haven't given up! Stay strong and eventually we'll both do it! I agree that coffee's fine when you're away from home.

Thanks! It gets easier as I go even for the coffee. I'm starting to like gas station coffee just for the prices if nothing else!:D
