Was able to go without any kinda of fast food at all yesterday which is a good start. I wasn’t working yesterday so not on the road, even still it’s become a compulsive behavior to go out and pick something up. So going a day without anything yesterday, I’ll still call it a win

    Great wins all around!!

The idea of spring and life in bloom is helping me with food choices… was in a weekend rut and digging myself out.

Being kind to my body this week. Zero fast food.

    have a great day 🌻

Wanted to check in here earlier today but ran out of time before work! Was able to make it another day without any kind of fast food, ate nice and healthy for the third day in a row! I know it sounds crazy to some but I don't remember the last time I went that length of time without some sort of fast food in my system. Feel good! Feel energetic! Motivated to keep going!

Woke up at 4am with my body screaming Dunkin. Convinced myself to calm down, consider making a pot of decaf at home, then decide. It worked! Ended up with a turkey sandwich at home.

So now I know it might work if I just try!

It's also getting warm enough to walk outside. "Town", a main intersection with 2 banks, a quick mart, and lots and lots of food, is about 1/2 mile from my house. I thought I'd walk up there, eat and rest, then walk back one day soon. So I started thinking about where I could eat that didn't have a drive thru. β€”β€”- does everything have drive thrus these days? My choices went from about 20 to 2. Waffle house or Subway. Neither a particular favorite, but both clean and good quality for what they offer. I would recommend both. Not sure I want to do either. Hmmmm.

Good job! Dunkin can be super hard to resist in the morning so I understand the struggle lol.

Had another good day today. Once I figured out a system that works for me, it really feel like it's already getting easier to resist these bad food choices.

I've been using Cook Unity, I'm a single guy and don't have a lot of time to cook, so I just take their meals on the road with me and either heat them up in a local quiktrip or racetrac or I use the microwave I keep in my truck and I'll just heat them up at a customers house. Has been working well so far! Every meal has all the calories, proteins, fats and carbs on the label so it makes it easy to log into MFP. I've never tracked calories before in my life but it's does make it easier for me to make good choices once I've started to try to pay more attention to what I'm putting into my body.

Just becoming more and more mindful, that's my goal for this whole journey.

After a few months, it became a lot easier for me to resist because I no longer automatically think about drive thrus as an option while out. At first, I was thinking about Dunkin or something, in mornings, and then having to catch myself and remember the challenge. It does make it a ton easier to have a lot of slow-food restaurants around!

inspiring with the new food choices!

maintaining fast food free here.. instead of drive thrus- I have to be careful with uber and deliveries! No more desperation Starbucks.

been reflecting on the other food choices as well..

No problem where to go to today. Wind gusts up to 70. Good day to stay home and cook.

We're having weather warnings, here, as well. 😬

I did buy, recently, a burger and fries at a regular restaurant for the first time in ages..not the healthiest meal/ twice as expensive but tasted 10xs better than the fast food burgers.
