If not for this thread, right now I would be in Whataburger's drive thru, waiting for my pancakes, syrup, and sausage. But I am sitting at home eating Jello fluff-50 calories for a 2-cup serving. I may have 2 servings before the rain stops and I can make myself go back to bed. Not a bad dent in today's calorie allowance.

It's hot. I'm tired. I can't remember the last time I had a jr. Bacon cheese.

But wait. I joined a challenge. No fast food! (Lunch and dinner).

So I went to the grocery store. Cold smoked salmon and deviled eggs for the save. At least for today.

    hi @Corina1143 @AdahPotatah2024

Still going on the fast food free lane! No Starbucks delivery here anymore. Currently on holiday.
    it’s so hot .. I can’t even think about 🍟

    How’s it going?
Been in the greens challenge (groups) which has helped me transition to more produce, especially in summer… 🥬 🍏

No drive thru lunch or dinner. I was out the other day, quite a way from home, and hungry for lunch. I went to a grocery I thought was big enough to have a deli. They didn't. I ended up at Panera. Just a sandwich fed me 3 meals and was so good compared to drive thru.

Yesterday was a really rough day, diet-wise. I ate all the junk. No healthy food at all. Ice cream, cookies, etc. But I wasn't tempted to drive thru. I think my habit is working. I did go to whataburger at 3am. Coffee only.

I'm going to Dunkin less often. But when I pulled up to order the other morning they already had my order up on the screen. So I guess they still consider me a regular.

    Still hanging in there:)

Was watching this video this morning, glad I don't live there in the UK, haha..that's probably like most of US small towns

How Much Weight Can I Gain in World's Most Obese Town?

wow - breathes a sigh of relief it’s not a town in the USA - small mercies. I’m so tired of the - fat cliche USA generalities! (I’m currently out of country)

With that town - in video - did they get to the root of why the epidemic is occurring? Seems like the video was alluding to food prices for fast food being cheaper…

but I think that’s a misnomer… if someone were to buy the chicken and onions and veg and make a meal… it could be a number of meals - and probably would be cheaper than ordering fast food every day. At the end of the day it’s a choice, no?

    I dunno though… 🤷‍♀️

I thought it was funny that most the people he talked to and the restaurant workers were fairly slim.

It'd be tough, though, with 80% of the restaurants being fast food! I want to visit there, just for one day, when this challenge is over!😂

The big daddy looked like "big daddy" should take it home to share with "big mamma" and all the grandkids after they've stayed overnight and grandpa and grandma are just too worn out to cook!

Kind of interesting esp since Wales has so many great traditional foods.

Seriously, though, I did notice that it would be a lot more difficult to eat healthy there than around my own hometown. Even though there's a lot of fast food, here too, there's fast healthy food easily available. The burrito bowls, veggie subs, and earthfare buffet with vegan dishes, for example...

That one lady talked about how it is normalized to overeat there, also..and I agree that's a huge factor in obesity.

I'd definitely feel like I'd be judged a bit, here, if I sat down and started annihilating that big daddy breakfast! 😅 & not only by strangers. My family would be judging me as well, as most that live here (My dad's side of the family)are very light eaters.

I think overeating would be a lot less difficult if everyone around you approves of it!

(Not to say people should rule out the body positivity/ I focus on the appreciation of the functionality and health of the body, rather than appearance. Just talking about the act of overeating, itself, that is not normalized as much here!:D)

interestingly ….. I’m on holiday with not a fast food in sight for miles…. I haven’t really paid attention to people’s girth.. but I can’t say I’ve seen any morbidly obese folk either…

    dunno. 🤷‍♀️

    The fast food annihilation-cleanse continues!!
    no Starbucks for me. 😇
