    02/03-194.2-(Trend Weight: 192.5)-

02/10-195.8-(Trend Weight: 193.7)-What a horrible week it’s been on my never-ending quest for good health. It was an especially hectic day yesterday. I didn’t plan meals properly and they were awkwardly spaced and a bit topsy-turvy. Overboard on snacks again too. Super Bowl / Puppy Bowl mentality. Today is another day, another attempt. Fingers crossed. My birthday is May 10th and I decided this morning that my first mini-goal is to lose a full 10 pounds between now and then. That would put me firmly in the 180’s and on much better footing health-wise. I would still be 30 to 40 pounds away from my ultimate goal, but those numbers sound so much more do-able. Am I reaching for the stars? I dunno, but stretching is good for you, right?

02/17-194.4-(Trend Weight: 194.7)- Down 1.4 lbs from last Monday. I am grateful for any improvement at this point. I had an extremely emotionally charged evening and night last night with regards to my troubled DD. My meals were already finished so they were not affected but I ended up gulping several adult beverages that contained lots of orange juice. High carbs and not good for my blood sugar levels but they hit the spot and got me through. All is well today (so far) with DD and I hope that I will not lean on putting bad choices in my mouth today, no matter what happens. I’m trying. T-Minus 1 lb with 9 lbs to go on my birthday (May) goal.

    Hi, All -

I’ve taken the last month off from this challenge as I am caretaking for an elderly parent who is declining. With 17 hour days between commuting to work, the work day itself, and tending to her well-being, I don’t have much time for me.

In other words? A temporary setback during pursuit of a longer-term goal. So, while my end game remains the very same, my timeline for achievement is simply extended. If it takes until July or December, so be it. I must remain patient! It’s all a process, each of us moves at our own pace, and my commitment is unwavering.

Little things I’m able to easily continue:

    • Taking the stairs instead of the elevator

    • Workday breaks for a simple stroll around the neighborhood (good mentally and physically)

    • Stretching

    • Hydrating

    • Maintaining a balanced diet + tracking meals

Across the next month, I’m striving to:

    • Return to daily home workouts (weights + cardio); even if initially, I only squeeze in 30 minutes here and there… as long as I exert a daily effort

    • Increase my cycling and rowing machine workout frequency + mileage

    • Drop another 6 lbs (minimum)

Sometimes whatever goal we had set at the outset turns out to be unrealistic, but that's neither here nor there. It just means the timetable (and possibly the approach) shifts a bit.

Objectively speaking you've made great progress so far. Adjust expectations, continue doing what works, and make additional changes as needed :) Congrats on your success and bright outlook!

Hello I'm Darlene, retired, 64-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I started my journey in January 2023, and over the last two year have lost almost 90 pounds. I got to my goal weight in the last quarter of 2024, and now tackling the maintenance phase. There aren't too many maintenance threads on MFP, so hope you don't mind I hop on this thread for this part of my journey. I have been a member of a daily accountability group that really helped me, but would love to transition into a weekly one. I'm working on a buffer to make it so I never hit overweight again, but will be happy just to stay in the ideal BMI range the rest of my life. I'll weigh in on Wednesday, we'll see how that goes!

    My Weekly Goals

    Adjusted in February
🥅 Stay under Ideal Weight (140)
    👣 110K Steps Weekly
    🥗 Under Weekly TDEE
    🚶‍♀️40 Miles walking
    🫀 3 Cardio (non-walk) weekly
    🏋️‍♀️3 Strength Weekly
    🧘‍♀️1 Stretch type weekly

I was over my calorie limit 4 of the 7 days. Glad that I am still under the ideal weight category, but need to pull it together this week.
❤️February 19: 138.9 🥅 👣 📝🥗 🚶‍♀️🫀🏋️‍♀️⌚ All goals met! Was almost a perfect week - until my binge last night. Prior to that I was just over my calorie limit one day (my planned date night) and more than made up for it during the week. Then, last night a bit of a binge putting me over my calorie and sodium limit. I knew that I was under for the week which made for some self sabotage. I ended up under 732 calories for the week. I know I should be happy, I maintained and was down a little from last week, but still hard to get out of the losing mentality.

@deepwoodslady Thank you, I have been focusing on increasing protein: tuna, turkey, chicken, salmon and protein shakes to supplement. I have been limiting carbs and drinking water. I've been hitting at least 15K steps and strength training 3x a week. My weight tends to yo-yo, but I'm really trying to stick with these habits this time around.

I lost a bit of weight by changing my habits eating at restaurants. I only eat out if I am with others and typically order one entrée/no sides or soup and salad
*2025 I will not eat anywhere with a drive thru window!
*I quit drinking cream/sugar after 2 cups of coffee..most days and cut down on wine/beer and buying cake, cupcakes
*Also, I have a meal plan with vegetarian meals at least 5 days per week. I have my meals logged in advance every week, usually around 1500 calories per day. (I'm short 5'2). I try to stick to the plan, but not counting calories anymore.

Wishing everyone the best with this challenge! 🥳 Happy New Year!!!
