@capewrathultra thank you for your well wishes about the lose of my hiking buddy. He was a German shorthair pointer who was full of energy to the very end. Looking at your log in picture, I am wondering if you also have GSP? They definitely keep their humans moving! And yes, Pettycoatjunction does tend to date a person 😂

kristawatkins52 The site I use to find emojis in the BBcode that My Fitness Pal uses is: https://emojidb.org/bbcode-emojis I'm sure there are lots of others, but I have this one bookmarked. Just click on an emoji you like and it is automatically copied. Then just paste it into wherever you keep your notes from each day. I have a string of them that I use sometimes at the bottom of my notes sheet (you don't see that string in my posts). Then when I want one, I just copy it from my notes sheet. I don't have to go to the website unless I want something I haven't already saved. Enjoy! It's fun.

I've been dog-less for the last 4 years. All of my dogs (and I've had many) have made it to at-least 20 years old, except for the last one. She got cancer and I had to put her down at 17 years old... I feel your pain.

    Catching up on round 283!!

@badats (Jocelyn) – welcome! Great way to start 2025!

@pettycoatjunction (Bobbi) – Welcome back! Sorry to hear of the passing of your walking partner. Good luck with your internet, and congrats on the upcoming career change.

@Musicsax – I am feeling “argh” on my number as well!

    @zizzybumble @susiemcmac @roxmom66 @santiagoalverez @healthylyna2020 @shoranani more new faces. Welcome!

@Chapter_3 – I need to learn what BHAG means! :)

@skyleen75 – I enjoyed you comparing of stepping on the scale to a horror movie. I had a few of those mornings in December. On your polar plunge, you are braver than me!!

@jspecies11 – I hope you are feeling better

@chapter_3 (Carolyn) – wishing you strength for the end of the month

@judefit1 – thank you for those travel wishes. We did well. Drove our first 1400 miles and are now are MIL’s. Tomorrow morning, we head off for the last 200 miles. I build a two story cage for the cats, with litter box, feeders, beds and doors for mi-ride access. They handle it pretty well, but this is their fifth year, so they know it well.

@lolakinks - Nice to see you back! Indeed dress shopping is not easy!

@UTMom81 @chapter_3 - I’m curious about looking that the apple watch data. Something new to check out.

@lita_loses-it_all – day at a time! I know you can do this!

@_jeffreyD_ - I find my smart devices addicting. It’s hard to decide if that is good or bad.

@capewrathultra - Thanks. I just need to learn to not slip and return to old bad habits. First round in JGMTD was September 2020. Hard to believe.

What has happened to @tiabirdie56 and @SheilaBoneham ?? What other long timers are missing?

@SheilaBoneham is taking a break, but she said she may pop in occasionally to 'see' us. But don't know what has happened to @tiabirdie56

#everyone Who was it that was picking up coins on their walks to save for a special treat for their great exercise habits? Was that you @musicsax ? I am just wondering how much that person has accumulated altogether or in the year 2024.

I started to try to catch up on everyone’s posts and fell asleep on the couch. Thank goodness for a four hour nap. I will catch up more tomorrow, but I would like to respond now to @UTMom81 and @musicsax “💗Z2”

I purchased for a small one time fee an app called “ZONES”. If you turn on your Apple Watch, “walking” or any other work-out on the fitness app on the Apple Watch, it automatically links to ZONES once you complete the workout. You can use their pre-program Ed heart zones, or you can custom create yours.

This is my work out today. It’s a quick look and boom-I see my 💗Z2 immediately ! The key is that you have to use your Apple Watch fitness choices to record your zone. If I’m just walking about or playing with DGS, my heart rate is not recorded in an easy to read/summary. I assume I can go to the Apple health app, but my Heart zone takes much more effort to tally/calculate.

“Zones” has excellent charts and summaries to help keep track!tgd2mlybpscw.png

This is very interesting. I'm curious as to what numbers are represented by each of your zones. Do you mind sharing? I'll go snag a pic of mine in my watch.

@Chapter_3 Here is what my walk looked like on my i-Watch. The resting heart rate my zones were calculated from is 66. Oh, same as yours, I don't get this data unless I turn on the Fitness app and choose a "workout". I talked with someone today who uses a Fitbit to track time spent in HR Zones, but to me, the way hers works, you get skewed data. She told me her fitbit gives her 1x minutes spent in zone 1, but 2x minutes spent in zones 2 or 3. So for instance she ended up with like 180 zone minutes for an hour long walk or something like that. I know I don't want that--too confusing. I think I can get enough info from my i-Watch. (PS, I didn't do a cool down. Probably should have.)
