How do you add friends on the mobile app?

I’m not seeing anywhere an “add friend” button or anything.
Show me how and anyone that responds to this post I’ll add as a friend.
Let’s be friends! 😁

Hello, and welcome!
I'm not a great MFP-friend candidate (kind of a flake, TBH, and at a different stage in the process, long-term weight maintenance). If it helps, though, I can tell you how to add someone as a friend in MFP, starting from here in the Community, as long as they haven't made their profile private (*).
- When you see their post, click on their ID. That will bring up a pop-up box
- In that box, click on "View Profile". That will take you to another page.
- On that new page, click on "MyFitnessPal Profile". That will take you to their MFP profile.
- On their MFP profile, there should be some icons under their user ID. There's one that looks like a group of 3 people. Click on that. That will take you into the process where you send the person a friend request, which they may accept or not as they wish.
(*) There are various points where people can make their information private, so that what I describe in that list produces a message, or the thing I said to click on doesn't appear. I think it's fair to assume that that person doesn't want to accept MFP friend requests.
A couple of things to know: Being MFP friends in that sense has limited usefulness. It lets you send private direct messages (DMs) to each other, and lets you look at each other's food diaries if you've both elected to share diaries with friends. On top of that, I'm sorry to say that romance scammers or other kinds of creepy people show up here sometimes, and while IME they get deleted faster here than on many social network sites, that fact does make quite a few people - maybe especially women - shy away from accepting friend requests.
That said, a really good way to find friends in a more casual sense of the term, and get support and encouragement, would be to join one of the many accountability, challenge or support threads out here in MFP-public in the Community.
Those are most concentrated in these two areas:
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/motivation-and-support
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/challenges
. . . but there are others spread around elsewhere. They all have a bit different "culture", maybe more structured/formal or less so, focused on a particular topic or generally chatty about all things health/fitness/diet, etc. Good odds you can find one or more that would suit your needs, if you read around a bit.
If you read the intro post, that will usually say how to join in. If nothing explicit stated, that usually means you just post on the thread. You can read the most recent few posts to get a feel for what kinds of stuff to post.
Some of those threads have been running for a long time. If you open those up, don't be dismayed if you see old posts. The new posts are at the end, on high-numbered pages. You can jump straight there with the number/arrow links near the top and bottom of each page of posts in the thread. Anything on the first page or two of a topic area in the Community will have recent posts, other than a few announcement-type posts MFP has pinned at the top.
Once you're participating in those, two things can happen: You may "meet" people you like, and with whom you'd like to do the DM/diary viewing kind of friendship. Also, when you've posted for a while, others will learn what a good guy you are, and be less hesitant to accept that type of friend request from you. (But some people never accept those; don't take it personally.)
I'm wishing you much success here on MFP, and I hope the above info may help. Best wishes!1 -

I’m learning a lot about how things works here.
Your info was very helpful. Thank you.
I’m used to my Fitbit community which was quite different than this.
I miss the challenges, so I’ll definitely look into those.
Thank you Ann.
I’d say we’re friends even if it’s not formal 😁
