Hello

Trying this program. It’s an eye opener!! Lol…logged breakfast; came in at 600+ calories!! Scrambled eggs, buttered toast and 1/2 cup milk.
What’s working for you all? 😉

Watching portions is important. I'm surprised that this meal came to 600+ calories. Think substitutions as well. How many eggs, did you use a lot of butter? Fats are dense in calories. I would use just one or two yolks and the rest scrambled whites. skip the butter on the toast, use skim or low-fat milk instead of whole milk. Will slash calories significantly.

There are certainly a few places you could probably painlessly drop some calories from that, but it also might not be that bad. What is your calorie goal for the day? Is breakfast usually your big meal? For me, 500-600 calories is a happy breakfast. But, I have a 1700 calorie budget and breakfast has typically been the biggest meal I eat in the day whether I'm losing or maintaining.

It's a matter of preference, really. But it might not be a big deal in the picture of an overall day.

Yep - what Gypsy said. Your calories are a budget. Spend them where you like. Keeping an eye on nutrition helps you get more bang for your buck.

Protein, fat and fiber are filling. Tweak your meals where needed.

honestly i could double that for breakfast and be happy. Actually do for dinner when it's a wafflehouse night. I just make that my meal for the day.

I don't like drinking my calories. But do 1/4 cup cottage cheese, 1tbsp of chia seeds and 2 eggs. the cottage cheese and eggs can be scrambled together but I prefer to fry my eggs with a spray of oil (pan is not non stick sadly)

this is around 325 calories and keeps me settled for quite a while.

feel free to join my group. I'll be happy to help support you on your journey. We can learn from each other.

    Welcome to MFP @cj94952

    Don’t sweat it.

Logging like you’re doing made me realize how much I was eating, and made me think about alternative foods, or tweaks to recipes I liked.

Paying attention was what put me on the path.
