I am not a teenager or a doctor, but cutting carbs (I went keto) did wonders for my blood sugar. I went from pre-diabetic to normal in a matter of months. Stop eating processed foods, lose weight, and getting more active (even if it is just brisk walks) will help as well.

All you need to do is start managing your health. If you are overweight, then you can lose weight. You don't have to cut carbs. If you learn how to eat only the amount of food you need to sustain your day then everything will be under control.

I have type 2 diabetes. I still eat high glycemic foods. But in the process of eating a healthy meal with carbs, fats, protein and fiber my carbs stay within 50 to 100 grams per day. You do want to limit the amount of sugar you eat but everyone should limit the amount of sugar they consume.

If you’re under 18, please see your pediatrician!

If you are seriously overweight, losing weight can bring your glucose levels down. Consistent exercise will also help. If you lose weight slowly, you are more likely to keep the weight off, so focus on making sustainable changes to your diet, not getting it off quickly.

I found out that I was prediabetic when I was 23. Asked around here and was given some tough love and told to lose weight to change those numbers!
I lost about 10 lbs in the first 3 months by making small changes (pretty much learning about proper serving sizes😁) and then retested and my A1c was back to normal.
I just tested again now (1 yr and 25 lbs down) and my A1c is 5.1!
Best of luck to you, and feel free to reach out for support.
