Breaking my fear of Macros

Hi my name is Monica, I’m 51yo. I’ve been working out for two years with some but not enough progress. I know there are two things that keep my in a plateau 1. Diet (specifically tracking macros) 2. Going into the gym.
I have a lot of dietary allergies and I hate cooking so following a diet is mentally hard for me and I hate tracking my food. I’m going to use this app to see if I can start doing it, because what I hate more is working out with no gains. It’s pain with no gain. Once I tackle this giant, I will move to the next one which is getting into the gym.
Look forward to meeting people on here for support and guidance!

When you say working out, what exactly do you do? Only lifting heavy weights will build muscle if that's what you are going for, so you won't likely see any gains until you do that. I would focus on strength training first, then just make sure you are getting in sufficient protein. Tracking macros can help at a certain point, but it's not strictly necessary. Weight lifting, however, is.
