It worked before….

so I’m going to try it again. I had luck logging with my fitness pal before, so I’m back. A bit older and more tired, but not giving up yet! I’m nearly 70, type 2 diabetic, been keto for many years, but not seeing the results I’d like. I think I must be underestimating my carbs. This is where I’ll find out for sure!

Hello and welcome (back?)!
We're same-agers, or close: I'm 69 now, but have been hanging around MFP for nearly a decade now, first weight loss and now maintenance.
If weight gain or regain has happened, yes, probable underestimating.
Without trying to suggest keto is wrong for you, because it may be great, the big issue is calories.
Underestimating carbs does add unwanted calories, but so does underestimating protein, and especially fat (because fat has over twice as many calories per gram as carbs or protein, so overdoing by a little can add a lot of calories quickly).
Carbs can increase water retention up to a point, and they spike appetite for some people, and of course carbs need to be managed carefully when diabetic or insulin resistant. In those scenarios, lower carb, keto, or carnivore - whichever is most achievable personally - can be good strategies.
Logging food here should help, no matter the dietary approach.
Wishing you success!

Welcome back! Tracking your food is definitely important. I'm not a follower of keto, but tracking my food has definitely helped me control my weight and diabetes.
