Is water melon a good snack

anything is high in calories, if you eat enough of it, and I could eat my weight in watermelon.
As far as late night snacks, it’s a hard no for me. I eat a bowl of watermelon, and in thirty minutes it’s potty time.
That’s like deliberately sabotaging my sleep. 🤦🏻♀️

What's a good snack? Anything that fits in calorie goal, tastes good, is filling, is affordable, and adds something to the day's nutrition, IMO. Doesn't even have to be every single one of those, either. Portion size matters, especially with calorie-dense, nutrition-sparse foods.
Sure, watermelon can be a good snack: High water content so hydrating and potentially filling, some useful micronutrients, a bit of fiber, most of us find it tasty, relatively low in calories.

Spiking insulin just before bed or near bed time isn't something I'd recommend.

I'd say yes. For me, any unprocessed real food in moderation is a good snack. However, if I started eating watermelon every night at midnight, I might want to reconsider.:)
