Hi Melanie @dvmmcw7442,
I hope your ankle feels better and improves every day! Best wishes! 🌷
I'm gearing up for a fresh reset on my mother's birthday, May 21st (Wednesday), at which time I will post stats for my new "Day 1" on the stats board and my first weigh-in here. The program I'm joining at the end of this month will have their group meetings (via conference call) on Wednesdays; so I'm switching my weigh-in day to Wednesday not will also post a weigh-in on the last day of this challenge, Sunday, June 15th.
I've been steadily gaining and slacking off, so I need to turn this around right now! I will report honestly and regularly. I've been drinking alcohol as well but that stops NOW! I will begin a new Sober Count on Wednesday, May 21st as well, although I don't intend to drink over these next few days at all - I'm DONE with that! 🙏
Have a nice weekend!

I find alcohol to be so darned hard to give up! I have at most anywhere from zero drinks a weeks to 3 in a day. It’s so difficult in social situations where EVERYONE is drinking! I pay for it every time I drink- poor sleep, weight gain, low energy the next day. But I do it anyway! You’d think those would be reasons enough to abstain.
I hope your next program works well for you!
Today for me:
Macros ✅
Lower body workout. Didn’t get to it until after 8 pm as my day was incredibly busy but I did it 🙂
>10,000 steps
No booze ✅

Good morning,
@dvmmcw7442 Hi Melanie, no alcohol yesterday. I'm more of a "binger' when I drink - so I'm safer not even having one...Ever. I always feel terrible the next day or two, with extremely elevated blood, and I look terrible too!
Congratulations on getting your steps and workout in, even though you were very busy! 🏆
Have a great day!

My sister came yesterday to help with processing calves on Monday and to help with the 40 people I’ll have to feed. Had 2 glasses of wine and a bottles margarita and of course today I feel like crap. Headache, tired. Although not a whole lot of alcohol, I can’t process it like I used to and it hits me hard. Blech. So why drink? I am working on that question.
Macros ❌ Booze, and a few things I ate that I didn’t need to
Upper body strength and SIT
17,692 steps!! Lots to prepare for the weekend.

Good morning @dvmmcw7442 (Melanie): WOW! You've sure been getting your activity in!
I find I don't process alcohol as well anymore either. I always ask the same way after drinking - why did I do this when I know I'll feel lousy for the next day or two. Today is Day 3 with no alcohol for me, but I plan to restart me "official" Sober Time count on Wednesday, May 21st (my Mom's birthday). This would be her 87th, but she passed away 30 years ago at age 57 (1995, when I was 37). Every time I abstain, I will honor her. She barely ever drank alcohol.
I've never once entertained more than 8 people at a time, and that was long ago! 40?! (I can't even imagine!)
Can you tell me what "SIT" means? I know "HIIT" but not "SIT".
I plan to get a lot of housework done today. (It's so nice to open all my windows!) 67° and mostly sunny in Boston right now.
Have a great day!

Whoa - only 4 weeks left in this challenge! I plan to make them count! Starting tomorrow, I'll resume calorie and step/other activity logging. I will weigh-in here and on other boards on Wednesdays, beginning May 21st and will post my June 15th weigh-in as well for the end of this challenge.
Have a nice evening,
💗 Carole

Hi Carole @Walela617 ,
Thanks for continuing to post. I appreciate hearing about what you are doing and how things are going for you 😊
Your mom was so young! My mom passed at 79 and I still feel that was too young! My dad is 94 and in really good shape but I just don’t have the same relationship as I did with my mom. I lost my number one fan. That is a wonderful way to honour your mom.
I feel like I got hit by a bus this morning. Got the whole crew fed and watered starting dinner on Sunday then all 3 meals Monday with a ton of help from my sister. Got the calves processed for turnout with their moms which was a cold day with periods of light rain and sleet. I can barely function at work today- just spent ☹️I didn’t eat well. Lots of goodies, bread, and some wine. I was just so tired and overwhelmed with the number of people we had here yesterday that I just grabbed what was around.
Going to be watchful of my macros today. Have a workout scheduled but have decided to pass. My body is like no way 😳
SIT is sprint interval training. I do it on the stationary bike usually. 30 seconds hard as you can then 2:30 recovery for up to 8 rounds. At the moment I am doing 5 rounds- I have lost a lot of my fitness being quite sedentary for over 6 weeks with my broken leg. It is coming back slowly- I was only able todo 4 rounds the week before.
I hope you have a great week! I didn’t weigh in on Sunday as I knew it would be high and just didnt want to deal with the number.
4 weeks to improve on a not so great first 4 weeks 🫤

Hi Melanie,
I'm with you! I feel exactly the same way about the last 4 weeks. I didn't want to report my weight today either. You've been doing so much! You deserve a break!
Hi everyone,
My scale said 165 this morning! I have trouble accepting that (heavy, late meal last night); so I will wait until tomorrow morning to post my new, reset weight (whatever it is), but will switch to Wednesday weigh-ins beginning of May 28th, the first day of my two-year, "Path to Lifestyle Change" program. Your can find it more about the program here:
I will check back in tomorrow.
Have a nice night,
💗 Carole

Not all of my steps registered as I put on a watch that doesn’t count steps around 5. I would have been around 10,000.

WOW, Melanie, You've been doing Great! My scale says 164 on Thursday, but my official "Path to Lifestyle Change" program starts on Wednesday, May 28th. I will reset my start date then. I know this challenge is only for a few more weeks, but I'm in another one that's ends on June 20th and another that ends on July 31st; so I'll keep going.
Have a great weekend!

Snacking at meetings with the food I brought rather than the cookies, soft pretzels, and candy that is offered at breaks has been keeping me from the dreaded afternoon slump and not feeling bloated.
Yesterday :Macros ✅

Steps ?❌ Sitting most of the day and not wearing my Fitbit
No booze ❌ One glass of wine with dinner
Water✅ Tea, Bubbly, water

From one extreme to the other it seems 😵💫
Drank too much at my sister’s last night and then of course ate too much. And the cycle starts again.
I feel like crap today- really tired. I see a pattern- why can’t I just stop? I know why- because it’s hard and uncomfortable and easier to just do what my brain is used to. Changing these pathways in my brain is way harder than any workout.
Macros ❌❌❌
Upper body workout
15,097 steps yesterday- a highlight for sure 🙋🏻♀️
No booze ❌❌❌ Two bottled margaritas and 2 glasses of wine

Hi Melanie @dvmmcw7442,
Hi everyone
I've been doing a lot of debauchery lately! The scale said over 165 this morning. I'm going to clear this bookmark and try to focus on only up to three challenges at a time.
"Never give up, for that is just the place and time where the tide will turn." Sober Time's message for June 1, 2025. focus on only up to the challenges at a time.
Happy June! Hope it's a great month!
