Starting Again at age 57

Hi,

About 10 years ago, I was 230 lbs, I am 6'2, I was back up to 215 lbs, on April 1st. I do this too often; I gain weight in winter and lose it in Summer. But I never get back to where I was, adding about 5 lbs a year. I am done with the YoYo.

I started on April 7th, 2025 at 215, with the goal of losing 1-2 lbs a week, til I hit 180. Well it has been a month and i am down 4.5 lbs so I am happy with one month in. This app helped me lose 50+ and is going to help me lose it, but I am NOT going to stop using it when I hit 180. I am going to maintain 180 with this app.

I am a cyclist, and I bought another bike (The number of bikes one should own is N+1, so don't hate me ;) N is the Number of Bikes you own). Being older I got an electric assist road bike April 15th. I have about 150 miles on it as well. It feels good to be riding again, I didn't ride much in 2022-2024. I have rode over 50,000 miles in my life, so I know I will get there, there is less me, and more bike.

My resting heart rate is 53 which is good, I have no health issues, and not on any medication, and I want to keep it that way. I am the worst patient in the world, I don't go for my medical exams till the end of September, when I am in the best shape. (this will continue lol ) I got a Garmin Vivoactive watch to help me keep track of everything, I had been using the Samsung Watch but it doesn't really do a great job for health, but good for notifications.. Health wins for now on.

This message is my accountability message, that I will check in monthly, and I will keep it off, and I will keep being heart healthy.

Thanks for reading this if you got here!

Jon

I am going to get to Maintenance and keep it going!
