Every Friday I will be weighing myself. My goal is a pound a day. To lose 5 pounds in a week. From 225 to 220 to 160. Hopefully by summer 200. 180

Today another busy workout day. Push Mowing the back yard until I ran out of gass. 10:30 to 11: I went to the gym with mother. Did the oliptical. Burning 371 calories. My calorie intake i burned. brought me up to 1400 calories. Had pizza for dinner with the parents. With a 1 cookie for dessert. Pizza was 240 calorie a slice. Plan to go to gym and do weights and cardio. Thanks Joe for caring your so kind.

You need to learn more about weight loss, because a pound a day is very unrealistic—sorry to be the bearer of bad news. A pound is 3500 calories, and we need a minimum of 1200/1500 (women/men) to stay healthy. Sadly, it's really difficult to burn 3500 calories MORE than you eat in a day. Most of us find it hard to burn 500-1000 calories more than we eat in a day, or to eat 500-1000 fewer calories than we burn in a day.

I burn about 1900 calories in a day, due to my size, age, sex, and activity level. I aim to eat about 1400 calories a day, leaving a "deficit" of 500 calories/day. 500 x 7 = 3500, or a pound a week. And that's hard, b/c 1400 calories doesn't always fill me up.

Anyway, I hope you will learn more so you can lose in a healthy, sustainable way. Good luck.

You don't need to be burning 3500 calories more than what you eat in a day, though— I don't really think that's right. It's a bit extreme there. Reducing your calorie intake, ergo beginning a deficit should be enough to allow you to lose a lot of weight overtime. For example, at one point, I ate ~1400 calories, burned ~300, and lost 2 pounds overnight. So while a pound a day can be VERY difficult to maintain (though it's easy to lose when you begin), it should be entirely possible— over maybe a longer period of time though. You don't HAVE to burn more calories than you eat to be in a deficit (it's the less desirable choice for most people); eating 500 calories less than you normally do is the average 500 calorie deficit and works perfectly well. So yeah, I don't really know where your math came from (believe me when I say mine isn't much better though), but it didn't really make sense and I just wanted to point that out, along with what I think! Tell me if I'm wrong about anything else as well— 😁 /gen
