Is curvy the same thing as fat?

Truth of the matter is, women of all sizes can have curves.0

My measurements are 34-25-38 and people call me curvy. And since curvy is just a nicer synonym for fat, did they really mean I was fat? I'm so confused with the difference between curvy vs. fat. What do you classify as "curvy"?0

<<<<I am curvy, but not that fat...depends on the day you ask me...haha. You can be curvy at any body weight honestly.
No. Not the same.0 -
It's been my experience anything a man labels a woman it is the wrong label so I just go with whatever she says she is. Even then I try to avoid using the label since usually when I've repeated the exact label she gave herself it's somehow wrong.
Hahahhaha!0 -
When men use the word, its meant positively (correctly, bcuz they wouldnt call a fat woman just curvy), when women use it they just mean fat (they are trying to be nice). My experience

The supposed "ideal" waist to hip ratio is 0.7, and that's exactly where yours is. So take your curviness as a compliment. :-)0

Problem is, a lot of fat women say they are "curvy". Sorry, rolls aren't curves.0

curvy is a woman who has an hour glass figure (meaning the hip and bust are almost of equal size with a narrow waist).0

I agree.
My husband and I had this discussion just recently and there is a big difference between 'curves' and just plain fat and I don't consider someone who has rolls to be "curvy" either.0 -

Does it matter?0 -
No.
Curvy women go in and out in all the right places.
Fat is just, erm, fat!0 -

I do not consider curvy to be a synonym as fat, but I do believe that some fat people can be described as being curvy.
When I was much thinner I had been defined as curvy, having large breasts and wide hips and a disproportionately small waist.
I still have those things, but an awful lot of fat with it. Logically this says to me that I am both fat and curvy.
Sexy now, that's a state of mind.0
