Expand exercise logging options with Loseit

I was getting frustrated with the limited exercise options in My Fitness Pal. For example, if I do two hours of difficult yardwork no, my only option is raking leaves. Then I remembered that I still have the LoseIt! app on my iphone. LoseIt! has a fantastic database of exercise exercises. LoseIt! has a free version. You can find whatever activity you did in the LoseIt! app. Log it there. Then it will sync to your health app. And within an hour or so it will then sync with My Fitness Pal.

You can also create your own custom exercise in MFP, for any activity you wish.

If you have a starting calorie estimate for your custom exercise, and log it once, MFP will let you use that same entry in the future and estimate the calories based on your starting entry's calories, but it will adjust for changes in duration of the exercise, or changes in your bodyweight.

If you don't have a source for starting calorie estimates for exercise, you could use something like LoseIt presumably (I don't know LoseIt). Or you could get a METS estimate from this site:

    https://pacompendium.com/

. . . then use a METS calculator like the one below to get that starting calorie estimate:

Like I said, it's not necessary to repeat that multi-step process every time: After you do it the first time, MFP will calculate for you using the basic calories per minute per bodyweight estimate from the starting calorie estimate you supplied.
