Lanette ~ Your hanging basket of flowers is pretty. I hope you are enjoying you new Shark vacuum. I pulled mine out of the closet this morning and vacuumed the carpet in our three bedrooms. Man, the debris it picked up was mind-blowing but desperately needed to be done! 😫 We have hardwood in the rest of the house and I just use my cheap stick vacs to do that.
Annie ~ So glad to see you back!
Lorna ~ From what you have said, your UTI's must really make getting the help you need to clear them up hard. Hope some doc will come along who is more understanding and the office visits taper off.
Kim ~ Continued best wishes for healing! 🙏

Lanette … years ago artificial flowers were a no-no, but I've seen more and more designers recommend them. Yours look great!
Rebecca … so glad that Zepbound is working for you!
My farm produce was delivered yesterday after a few weeks hiatus. Everything looks great except the homegrown strawberries which were very small (most were the size of marbles) and very soft. To be expected with all the rain we've been having. I turned them into refrigerator jam this morning using a recipe that didn't need pectin and less sugar than usual. Other items in this week's box included asparagus, snap peas, local hydroponic tomatoes, red and green leaf lettuce, blueberries, a cucumber, basil, and green onions. I'll have most of it used up after the weekend. I really enjoy these boxes and more of the contents are now coming from local farms.
Shower Reno: Almost done. It took more time than it should have to understand the installation instructions for the shower door. Seriously, no words in the manual, just pictures and those were not in sequential order?? The holes have been pre-drilled and the hardware is up on the walls. Waiting for my husband's knee gout to subside and then he and my son will prepare the glass and put the door on. We are so close…
It's been a long week here. A family situation (not life threatening) that has been emotionally draining. Looking forward to an easy weekend.

Lessons from window replacement…
Next time I will only have four done because because that is more manageable.
Now having gone thorough phase 1. I will save all my sheets. One thing that helped in my TV room is I covered everything I could including my AC and hot water heater vents with old and sheets I no longer use.
I have decided I will not do the front windows. I love the color with my house. It is a color they do not have with the new windows of today!
I will also not do replacement in the bedroom I sleep in. The dust created in this project is awful…hence the sheets.
I am convinced that part of what hastened my sister-in-law death was she already had compromised lungs because of a health condition. They were sand blasting her condo to do tuck pointing. She died by her windows watering her plants. I think that fine sand tipped it over for her.
I am being very careful as I clean up. The sheets I carefully folded and put right into the washer I am going through microdust clothes and my water spray bottle quickly. Speaking of vacuums. I am vacuuming and then vacuuming again. I have a Hoover HEPA vac. It does a great job. It is a pain to take it apart and clean it which I do outside. Making sure it is maintained helps it work best. It did get clogged when I vacuumed some remaining debris off the roof. Their vac only worked so well because they were shop vacs. Once I cleared the clog worked great again.
I also have a large window in my dining room. I replaced a similar one in my TV room. I will not replace that one because it is too dangerous to replace. The ground by the window is sloped and higher than the one I had replaced. Fortunately it is in good condition. I would not want to see anyone hurt replacing my windows. One of the young installers got cut on a window that shattered when taking it out. Fortunately it was a minor cut. I gave him a pair of my garden gloves to remove the glass he needed to do. My first reaction was anyone hurt. So no to that dining room window. Eventually I will get matching paint so The back and sides will all match.
That was another thing the salesman missed. He was raving how great the new windows look. He never caught on how much I love the color I have. When it stops raining I will get out and take some pictures.
I needed to do what I did because of drafting and the worry that the wood rot was getting into the structure of the home. It was getting too hard to have to constantly fix and maintain the windows I had done.
Best news is the rot was caught in time and I will not need to reside. Installer talked about owners not so lucky so in order to fix their damage it would cost more time, headaches, and $100,000 to fix.

My friend K, has left for home. I’m sad for that but glad she came. I have had a wonderful 3 weeks because of her. First the trip to Mississippi, the drive back, and the shopping day we spent together before she left. So much fun and laughter!
Lucy can now sit, lay down, come, wait, (15-30 seconds) and is now working on stay (15-30 seconds) and outside potty training. She is paper trainer, but I am working on switching her to outside potty. Playtime, she is learning fetch and drop it (lol). Funny story: I was outside with Lucy walking her around the back of the camper when she caught the sound of the canal. She went to investigate and fell in. I grabbed her by the color to pull her out. It’s not deep, just a strong current I was afraid would pull her downstream. Well, she ran around and was almost dry so I sat at the picnic table, which she usually zooms around but disappeared mid zoom. I called her and she showed up immediately completely soaked again. This time her head was dripping too. When she got to me, she looked at me with what amounted to a doggie smile, wagging her tail dripping. I shook my head and brought her in. Wiped her down and stayed in. She napped after that! Took her to the beach a little later and got in up to my shins. She followed me in and found that it was deeper than she is tall and she had to swim around me to get out. I helped her and dried her off once again.
Canal that runs the side of my camper and campsite.
Lucy is bringing joy to my life, along with Kerry, I’ve had a great month!
Thought for today:
Two guys walked into a bar.
The third guy ducked!

Carol - Thank you! That was the goose I needed to get my own floors done. I could have built another Egg out of the gray fur in my bedroom alone… I've given in to the fact that there are chores I enjoy and ones I don't, and bluntly, vacuuming a very dirty floor takes exactly the same effort as vacuuming a slightly dirty floor. I tend to use the cheap, older stick vac on the un-ignorable messes between pulling out the big one.
I did try once to remind myself how lucky I am that I HAVE a vacuum cleaner, and indeed, more than one, that my mother didn't even have one.
It didn't work.
Still sneezing, but the dust is beginning to settle,
Time to scare up some lunch. Hamburgers for dinner - bacon cheeseburgers for the man, and a mushroom slider burger for me. No idea what I'm going to eat for lunch.
Love y'all,
Lisa in still-raining Arkan-soggy.Egg departed at high speed when I started the vacuum, having forgotten the rain outside. She'll be back inside soon, damp and cranky. She glares at me in between drying herself off with her tongue, inch by inch. Or I could be exaggerating slightly. She never argues with my interpretations, so 😹🥰😂 oh well!🤷🏻♀️

Awe, thanks, I do feel better, but I have a Kong ways to go still. I take a injection pen weekly GLP-1 medicine called Zepbound, and its for obesity and sleep apnea. Its as much planning as doing IF (to me) but instead of dealing with more foods like feasting between the fasting, its eating the correct foods. Finding foods with low everything, but high in proteins is like a treasure hunt sometimes. From what I have read about gastric bypass eating requirements, its kind of the same in that you don't want to fill up with carbs because then you can't fit any protein in there. Or if you eat too much you have nausea and other issues. Most importantly this med I'm on stops the food noise your head plays, and it mimics receptors that naturally occur in the body that help keep you feeling full. Food that you eat stay in your body longer because it slows down your digestion a bit. Constipation is a huge complaint in my zepbound FB group. Many take all these meds for constipation, which to me work against what ths med is supposed to be doing. I try to get in about 90 oz of liquid either in water, tea, coffee or protein shakes. I also munch on raw veggies during the day. I think that helps and I haven't had the need to chew on any ginger chews I bought for nausea. I'm a bit neurotic about food these days, wrapping food up carefully as I don't want it to spoil as I take twice as long to eat a product. Freezer is my friend. I have a tub of all my bits and hobbies in there!😁🙃
You sound like you're on your way too! Appetite correction is listening when I am about 80% full and putting down whatever I am eating. Many times I hear the word "NOPE" in my brain. That's been interesting. Crazily enough when I am shopping I don't even see the chips, candy, or cookies, but I spend more time in the veggies and fruit, and protein drinks isle! My husband just leans on the cart and waits patiently, bless him.

Libate one for me! Sadly its not really recommended you drink alcohol while on Zepbound, so I am scared to sip anything, as there are known to be consequences!

Lisa I hear you on the dreams. They are more movie ish and so random! I take a Nature's Bounty Sleep3 melatonin pill nightly and that helps. Dose day was yesterday and injection site on belly is achy as well as just over all achiness. It goes away fairly quickly. I am hoping by Christmas time to be in more of a maintenance mode with the medicine. It should be a crazy ride!

This is the large window I was talking about these two panels are together as one window. This is what would also be in the dining room installed with uneven sloped ground and higher than this one.
This is the kitchen window. Staining and varnishing to come. The napkin rings were my grandparents. I had a drape on the old window and used them as tie backs. As much as I like my old drape it was hard to put up and take down to clean so I will either leave it as is or find something else. The problem is the window over the sink has screens that are very difficult to get out if you get the wrong kind of treatment. I already learned shutters are out because of how these windows are constructed. I will wait until staining is done and then decide what I will do. I did look at roller shades and bamboo shades. I have to see samples with stained windows to make final decision.

I only use kid size plates/bowls. I have a ton of Tupperware luncheon/kids plates and bowls from when I used to sell it and had the daycare. The only time I use a full size dish is when I have a salad , and then I get a big one out. I often have any snack out of a small Snack Cup that holds 3/4 cup

I have to agree- those cigerette prices are crazy high- MIL was still smoking until a few years ago. Up until 5 yrs ago Tuesday(her first bad fall) she was smoking at least a pack a day. After the fall she quit for a while because it was hard for her to go down stairs to the back yard but started off and on over that 5 yrs.
When dh stopped picking them up for her, they were just over $10 a pack- She was spending over $300 each time he picked them up and that wasn't lasting even 3 weeks.6 -

Carol and Lisa - you gals lit a fire under me. This morning I vacuumed the master bedroom, hall, living room and dining room back door mat and runner. Love that the Shark is so lightweight, I was able to get into and under places where the big vacuum can't fit. 2 cannisters of dirt.
Rebecca - love your flower arrangement. About 30 years ago, silk flowers were the rage. I bought these off Amazon - I probably would have gotten something different for my hanging basket if I'd been able to see them in person but at least it's a color spot. That I don't have to water. 😁

I need a fire lit, but maybe this weekend or early next week. I am so achy right after dose day. Its a side effect, but not as bad as some people have, so I am grateful for that. Today however, I had horrible heartburn, my whole chest hurt, so I just didnt eat a lot. Tomorrow will be better. I took Tums and tonight I will take a couple more.
Thanks, love your arrangement too! Yes the no watering thing or looking droopy thing is a big plus. Mine can bend and look more natural. I will get more flowers like these, maybe a plant. I have no green thumb whatsoever.🙃

I have a large selection of artificial flowers and I swop them around according to the season. At the moment, I have some gorgeous bearded irises out, a rose posy, and a bunch of feathery garden summer flowers. My DSIL was completely taken in! I also have real alstromerias on the table. I like to have at least one bunch of real flowers. Soon the irises will be retired and the dahlias brought in. My best buy ever was my Christmas red amaryllis, which fools everyone, ( 9 years old now), and my Amazon pink tulips, which are totally indistinguishable from the real thing. I like that they have flowers in different stages of opening. Occasionally I have bought some that don't look good, and I bin them, or give them to the charity shop. I keep the spares in the garage, covered with a light cloth. The majority of the ones I like were more expensive and come from a company called Bloom, but I highly recommend the Amazon tulips, (the ones with the buds), and their olive branches.
I have had a really sore back these last couple of days. I can't take ibuprofen, because of my BP tablets, so I took a couple of paracetamol in the night. No idea how I did it, but I expect it will wear off, as these things do, eventually. Annoying, though. I want to get started on my hoard of ceramics in the garage, with a view to putting some in my dresser in my bedroom, (maybe) selling a few, and giving some to the charity shop. I'm not sure a lot of bending over is a great idea.
Last night's Chicken Kiev was really good, and I will definitely get the Pommes Dauphinoise again. We had asparagus with it. Nice not to have to 'cook' for a change. I've put the cheese and caramelised onion tarts in the freezer for a lunch sometime. It was all a 'meal deal' from Waitrose. Tonight will be a much more slimming Tandoori Chicken. 😅

You can add me to the Shark supporters. It’s so easy to just lift it off its stand and do a quick sweep round. It has a 60 minute runtime but that’s more than enough to do the whole house, if I want to.
This is the project we did in card making yesterday. The box folds up into a square envelope.
Yesterday it was a beautiful afternoon. I cut back a huge camellia that was beginning to block our garden view. I will see how it does before I decide whether to remove it completely.
It’s very wet today. I will go to our local shops for fresh produce. We will visit DED after lunch tomorrow.

Terri - that box card is lovely. 😍
I've started to get a few pieces out of the garage. They've been in there since we moved, nearly 7 years ago! I didn't want to put anything in the big dresser until the room was painted. It's only taken this long! I've been looking on eBay etc to see if I can price the tea and coffee sets for FM. They aren't worth a fortune, but I could get something for them. I actually do like them, but I would never use them. One set is my grandmother's pretty Noritaki tea set, in lilac, and one is my 'bottom drawer' white 'Bristol Garden' set I bought when I was engaged to my ex at uni. I'm keeping the huge, oval, dinner plates, for Christmas dinners, and a milk jug and sugar bowl, because they are cute. But cups and saucers?
Anyway, it's good to have made a start. There is loads more out there.
