I had a very nice haircut today. My hairdresser was excited to tell me how much she loved my book, and that she has bought four copies to give as presents!!! I encouraged her to write a review. Thank you so much to those of you who have. They are vitally important for the Amazon algorithm.
It's the hottest day so far here, though not unbearable yet. We are usually cooler here on the coast than inland. Going to have easy fresh butternut sqash ravioli with peas for dinner with garlicky green beans. I'm going to try a chorizo sauce for the first time. The whole thing should only take 4 minutes cooking. Don't want to heat up the kitchen too much.
Tomorrow is Bea pick up. I hope it's a bit cooler. I'm not at all good in the heat.
Your land is looking gorgeous, Lisa. Worth all the effort and cost. Knowing it's all yours ...... priceless.

Yep, I agree!
Great job on 15 min meditation! I sit, my mind starts fixating, then I think of this and that, and look at the clock and 2 minutes have passed....aaaack!

Lisa,
Love the Front entry porch set up! You have a great front view! We have some huge boulders, and my husband piles three rocks on one of them, which the squirrels have fun knocking over. Its one tall rock with two smaller rocks on each side so you can guess what it looks like.😂

😀 What I know about meditation for me is that I sit or lie quietly and focus on my breath going in and out and if I suddenly realize that I'm planning lunch or am otherwise distracted, I go back to focusing on my breath again. I probably have to reset a bunch of times in a 15 minute period. That is part of the process of mediation. Nobody just empties their mind and sits there for long periods of time. I have done what I planned as long as I don't jump up and go do something else.
😀 Daughter arrived an hour ago and Annie has been beside herself with joy. They have hugged and kissed and are now on the couch together. Daughter brought her own coffee pot and lots of food for herself. She will be working remotely while she's here so there will be a lot of times when she's in her room on the computer.
😀 I'm going to post the new thread for July soon, so be looking for it.

It’s a warm day here, and sunny! Yay! Maybe it’s finally summer.
I spent time in the yard. I decided I’d make spiffing it up and doing some weed prevention a project —inspired by some of you. I pulled all the weeds and grass from where it wasn’t supposed to be and covered the ground with paper, then with bark. I would have preferred rock or something, but I went with the least expensive option. Plus, I don’t have tools and equipment for moving rock or anything heavy around. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s OK for now. It took several days. Hoping it’ll keep the wayward grass from popping up. I don’t like yard work, but it’s a feeling of accomplishment when I’m done and it burns calories.
Tomorrow’s hike is an urban walk in a beach area and around a historic hotel. I will find another new coffee shop to try on the way. I may take myself to lunch after. I do have an Appointment shortly after, so may not have time.
Machka- You have a lovely view. It’s peaceful.

Allie- glad you are having a happy day! And I agree- let's just keep on truckin!
Deb - Peace for you and your DH as you walk through this complicated healing.
Lots of other thoughts I have had this past few days as I have been reading. Will be glad when I don't feels rushed for time. I am getting things lined upper the end. Need about two weeks to pull some paperwork and projects together. House is coming slowly, but the reality is I can move and come back and finish up cleaning and getting house on market. It will all work out.
Back still bothersome-they still have not called to set up MRI. I am calling tomorrow to see if insurance approval is still the old up. I don't know if they are not accepting medical reference reasons. HR at work has told me they have had trouble with emails getting through to insurance company. Will inquire about that. I do't what to do too much physical on my own until they determine what is going on.
Need to get trash out to curb and spend at least 30 minutes on home office clean out (I have stuff that needs to go to work office and stuff that just needs to go!). I find a smaller chunk time commitment works for me better than trying to tackle the whole thing at once.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio

Tracey: 🥰the wind chimes.
Debbie: Keeping you both in my thoughts as you work through the days ahead.
Heather: Coastal areas are always a little cooler. And we are also further north than you are, so not as hot as the south of England.
Machka: You’re doing well on the weight loss. Have you a goal in mind?
Carla: My heart weeps for your friend, and the decision she has taken. Assisted Dying isn’t yet an option here. Courage, dear girl!
Rebecca: I’m so proud of how you are embracing your new regimen.
Allie: Happy Birthday.
Today we are meeting with DHs Brother and wife for coffee after lunch they are flying stateside to visit our niece and family up near the Canadian border.🤗🤗🤗 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

Good morning my friends!
I am irritated with my scale this morning. For three weeks I have ridden my bike every day, and been very good about calories, except for a few restaurant meals. It says I'm down four pounds so on second thought, I guess that's reasonable. I'm just impatient.
I am going to try to start stair climbing with my Dad today. I bought a calendar to use for a log. There is some risk for my broken foot. The doctor said I could reduce wearing the boot today if I had no pain. But there is still soreness. Still, I'm looking at maybe two or three flights of stairs which is not much more than daily life. Maybe I will wait for this afternoon and see if I am feeling less impatient.
Lisa hope you get good news for your shoulder. And you are doing a great job on your yard!
Lanette Yay for no sugar/ white starches! Sugar is evil. One of my toughest challenges.
Rebecca it took me months to feel like I made progress controlling my thoughts. But the benefits of meditation kick in long before it feels successful. Even then there are days when it feels like a crazy monkey in my brain. That's when I need the stillness most.
Tina Yay for yardwork done! I think the only permanent yardwork is to pave it over with concrete. ( And then sweep!) I just stopped going outside. Too hot, and too many mosquitoes. I had small trees pulled out of my mother's flower garden this spring. It's chaos out there. But I hired out trimming the bushes and mowing the lawn. So it looks okay from the street.
Ginny bravo for managing a move with a bad back! So hard to know how much you can do without hurting yourself.
It's six thirty and Dad is up, but refusing to wear pants. He says he doesn't need them.
I was thinking of disabling his computer. He keeps talking about buying a car. I don't think he would do it online, but maybe. I could password it, or unplug something, or change the input for the monitor. It depends on whether I assume responsibility when he can't use it. He tries to look up the church schedule, with very limited success. Hmm.
Anyway, wishing you all a happy, healthy, safe and free day. Oops just realized I need to post to the new thread. Sorry!
