I wanted to share progress on the start of my newest journey! It’s been maybe two or three years since I posted in the MyFitnessPal community. I was truly just disheartened by my lack of progress and trying everything that I could to lose weight but not being able to adhere to any plan. Nothing I seemed to do worked for me. That’s changed! I could write a book here, but I won’t! Ha ha! 😆 When I turned 59 last year, I decided to start taking anti-aging supplements to get my energy up and so far that’s really helped! I’m also unfortunately prone to kidney stones so I have to avoid high oxalate foods and drink a LOT of water! (90-100oz) —so that all sort of kicked off my journey and I decided to do a slight Mediterranean style breakfast every morning. I flipped between a couple of things that I can talk about later. Ultimately though, it was my oldest daughter who helped me jump on the protein bandwagon. My macros are 30% Protein, 30% Fat and 40% Carbs. For my weight and height, MyFitnessPal recommended 1750 calories a day. Calorie cycling has also helped! I insure a few days a week I get between 1350 - 1400 calories. (It comes pretty easily.) Every Saturday, however I allow myself 2000 calories! It’s my free day and I rarely hit that target as I often come WAY under. Somehow just knowing that I can eat whatever I want in a day is very liberating! After about a month of serious commitment to my plan, I’m 8.4 pounds down! I finally broke 250!! I’m 248.8!! three years ago I was at 267 and I could not get away from that number to save my life. I’ve started moving more with cleaning gardening and basic movement. I do plan on doing strength training but right now I’m focused on the weight loss.

I wanted to share this in case anybody else felt hopeless or lost. Not every person is made like every other person so you have to find what works for you. and sure you have to be forgiving and realize it’s not about perfection. It’s about the journey and making improvements! ♥️

Love this! Through persistence and trial and error you found what is working for you, excellent! I love how you already feel better to increase your activity level and have plans to add on to that.

Thank you for sharing! Keep it up and please keep us posted.

Thanks so much for sharing! I'm at a plateau myself and I love the idea of calorie cycling. Going to look into that. :)

How are doing with the research on calorie cycling? Since I posted, my family caught a bug and we’re almost back to health! When I get sick managing my calories and all that goes with it flies out the door! (except I don’t go toward the devil sugar!) lol Yesterday was day 1 back on track!

My typical “Mediterranean’ breakfast is a plate with 1% Cottage Cheese, 1/8 walnuts with raisins, berries of choice 1/4 cup , usually cherry tomatoes and a piece of killer Dave’s thin sliced bread with Snake Oil (fancy olive oil)

Daily 1 cup of coffee with cinnamon, Multi collagen scoop, lions mane mushroom, 1 tsp allulose, and a small 1/8 tsp of Monkfruit extract. (Every morning!)

The other breakfast options for me are: Olive oil spray fried egg or two with paprika and pepper on two slices of Killer Dave’s thin sliced bread and 1 smashed avocado (Wholly Guacamole )

OR if I have lunch plans I skip!!
