    @ozdeelite That French chicken bake looks absolutely delicious!!! In regards to going off the rails again….me too, my friend. It is a Holiday weekend here in the US and the celebrations for my family started Thursday and will not end until Sunday night. I'm already gaining a good pound per day! My attitude is that life is for the living and celebrations, as well as other things, are going to happen. The main thing is that I have to get right back up on the horse, every single time. I can't afford to gain more permanently. Keep going. We got this!

    07/04-DNW πŸ’  - (Trend Weight: DNW) Today is my no-weigh Friday and it’s just as well. I must confess that yesterday was not a good day on any level. I did get in a bit of intentional exercise but only about half of what I have been aiming for. Diet was WAY off as the 250th birthday party for the USA was off to a pretty big start yesterday made possible by my lovely foodie daughter and DGS. Today should be an okay food day as our family BBQ will not be until tomorrow (Saturday). I may skip weighing in on Sunday as it would just be a temporary bloat and misrepresentation. I don’t need the scale to tell me that if I partake in the typical foods at our BBQ’s I will bloat and gain. Today most of my children have gone kayaking or tubing down river. I am taking care of all the littles. 3 of them age 4-7. Maybe I’ll get in more steps today? Happy Birthday America!

Today is the biggest BBQ celebration for family so the weekend of celebration continues on day 3 for us. I will not be weighing tomorrow. DD’s 6 kittens were born just after midnight this morning. So beautiful! I’m going by to visit them on the way to my other DD’s house for the Big Bang BBQ. I’ll post pics later.

    In keeping with this months theme of small changes, my July goals include:

    • increase proteinΒ 
    • Workout/walk 4/7 days
    • Limit alcohol consumptionΒ 
    • Starting weight 135
    • July weight goal 130

    • July 1: 135
    • July 2: 134.4
    • July 3: 134.8
    • July 4: 134.4
    • July 5: 134.8

    July 4: celebrated Independence Day and honestly I did not keep track of anything yesterday. I did put on 13k steps but that was because we were hosting a friends/family celebration and I was literally running round all day and night! I’m proud of myself ,as I didn’t over indulge and the scale stayed on par!

    My continuing goals: Drink more than 64 oz of water, 25+ grams of fiber, 100+ grams protein.

    For July I'll add 2 gym days per week.

    Well I made a commitment this month to weigh myself first thing every morning. So I thought I would join this group. It will enforce accountability. My goal is simple. Just weigh myself to capture both positive and negative triggers.

    July 5: did not track again yesterday, but did get into the many leftovers from our 4th celebration so while disappointed, not surprised by the scale. We had a lovely holiday weekend. Now that the events are done, time to get back on track!

    July 6: calories βœ…, protein ❌, water ❌, activity ❌ no alcohol βœ…. I desperately need to get back to my normal routine. The holiday festivities had me completely out of sequence on eating, exercise and sleep. I find summers to be a challenge when trying to stick to a healthier style, because those of us in the Midwest USA try to cram everything into 3-4 months while the weather is nice! Doesn’t mean it is not doable. Just means I have to be more aware, motivated, and focused.

    @Tbris4 Midwestern USA girl here from Northern Michigan. So true about fitting it all in during our short season. And there is no guarantee of good weather even then! Yesterday we had cold temps, rain all day and a tornado Warning in the county next to mine. My son-in-law sent me a pic of him BBQing on his new grill. He was wearing his heavy long sleeved winter coat LOL. No he wasn't trying to show me the coat, but the food on his new grill. Crazy!

    πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯ 07/07-189.4 βœ… - (Trend Weight: 190.5) I’m relieved to see I’m back in the 180’s , even if it’s by the skin of my teeth. My trend weight is slightly up so I know the holiday got me there for a minute but I’m doing okay now, I guess. I finally got some sleep last night which probably helped. I’ve also been keeping up with some intentional exercise. Now, to move forward with progress, especially on the dietary front! I can definitely do better than I have throughout the holiday!

    Hi all. Had a couple of bad days but back into eating better. Got to get more exercise in. Last week I got none but hoping to do 3 days this week.

    Been cooking again. Last night was ratatouille risoni.

    Tommorrow is my baby boys 18th - big day! Tiramisu torte will be eaten and Chinese. Heading to Sydney Sunday for specialist appointment.

    looking forward to starting my nursing course in august.

    Well I made a commitment this month to weigh myself first thing every morning. So I thought I would join this group. It will enforce accountability. My goal is simple. Just weigh myself to capture both positive and negative triggers.

    @herblackwings39 how are you doing with meeting the 100+ protein goal? My goal is alao 100+, but I find it challenging to hit it daily. I’d be interested in any tips you find are working for you.

    I saw your question about protein intake @Tbris4.

    My intake is 140g per day. I am almost 60 and believe higher protein will help to maintain my muscle and bone mass as I continue to age (along with strength training).

    We are beef ranchers so beef is on my plate at least once a day. I know this is an expensive protein source right now so I consider myself lucky to have it. This morning I am having 180 grams of sirloin cooked in the air fryer which gives me almost 40 grams of protein.

    Or I will often start off with high protein Greek yogurt and flavour it whey protein powder which will be about the same 40 grams. I make my own protein bars for a snack and those come in at 22 grams. I found a high protein bread at 10 grams for 2 slices. A good sourdough can also be as high. There are also some good high protein milk products.

    All of my meals include an animal protein or yogurt. I build my meals around 40 grams of protein.

    I can’t really comment if you do not consume animal protein. I think higher protein is definitely harder to do without animal protein.
