If the weight training is new, it's very normal to see an increase in the scale: your body retains water to repair and build your muscles after working out.

And even if you don't try to lose weight your scale weight constantly fluctuates: if your female then hormones cause water retention at certain times in your menstrual cycle. Don't poop every day? The stuff in your bowels has a weight. Don't weight naked? Different clothes have a different weight. etc.

    totally normal.

Weight loss comes from being in a caloric deficit.

Exercise is for maintaining and build I g muscle.

I can gain 5-6lbs in water weight when I lift weights, because muscles retain fluid for repair. The more sore I am, the higher the scale, but I don't need to be sore for it to come up. It's temporary.

Also fluctuations happen because of hormones, weather, sleep, inflammation, digestion, types of food, just because. Bodies are strange and arbitrary. It's the trend over time that matters

Yes, its normal. When you start weight training, your muscles retain water as they repair and grow, which can show up as a small weight gain. It’s not fat, just your body adjusting. Give it a few more weeks and track how your clothes fit, not just the scale.

Lots of things inside our body “have weight” - and its weight that shifts up and down. Just keep in mind that some of what happens on the scale has nothing to do with amount of fat.

If you haven't run across it already, this would be a good read - especially be sure to read the article linked in the first post:

That helps explain WHY those scale fluctuations are completely normal.
