If you're talking about strength exercise, there's a thread here where many MFP-ers shared programs that have worked well for them:

Despite the title, it has things like bodyweight strength programs, not just weight lifting.

There's also a good thread about setting up your own routine:

If you ask questions on that thread, I'll be the OP will answer, because he's still around and active, plus he's a helpful guy.

If you're talking about cardio . . . that's both a harder question and an easier one. The best thing to do is anything you personally find fun - at least tolerable and practical - that gets your heart rate up for a while, and that's manageably challenging for you, not exhausting. Exactly what that is will vary individually. It may take giving several things a fair try before you find your happy answer, but even the experimenting can be fun.

Remember to give each thing a reasonable try, not just one quick attempt. So many things feel nearly impossible on the first try, but are great after we get past those totally-normal newbie blues. Sure, if you hate it, don't do it. But if it just seems complicated, maybe hang in there. Things that are instantly easy tend to get boring fast, while things that are more complicated can stay interesting longer.

    Best wishes!
