Happy Birthday @quilteryoyo!
Welcome @micukica!
When I was working full-time, I often ran at lunch if I was working from home, as it was a great stress reliever that I often needed. On days I was going into the office, I usually ran first thing in the a.m. I found it helpful when I put everything out the night before, so I wouldn't have to think about any of it when I woke up, just gear up & go.Posting 2 days:
Aug:01/08 - 13.34km / 8.29 miles
02/08 - 6.13km / 3.81 miles
03/08 - 0km
04/08 - 11.18km / 6.95 miles
Total = 30.66km / 19.05 miles (Goal - 161Km / 100 miles)Garmin told my cranky butt to take a rest day yesterday and I listened to it this time.
This morning I woke to a weather report saying our city was the 3rd worst in the world for poor air quality (we're getting covered in smoke from wildfires out west).
By the time I headed out the door for a run we had improved to the 5th worst so I didn't push too hard.
I decided to follow some river ravine paths, assuming the air quality would be better. It was so good choice as the air was noticeably clearer as soon as I was in the ravine.5 -
Thank you all! So many active people here. Respect for waking up so early. For me is now too late to plan to get up early tomorrow, because I would be tired. But I'll go earlier to bed from tomorrow.
I'll try to organize myself to run once per week early in the morning before the work, and once per week right after the work. And once in a weekend.
.....
No, it's not the first time 5 km. I completed once 50km, twice marathon , and several times HM, and many trainings 10 miles, 10km... But that was 6-7 years ago. Now I want to gradually build my fitness level. I signed up for 4 events to stay focused and not to give up. A secret hope is HM in January 🙏🏼
But first: 5 km, 32 min, end of August.

Another lovely winter’s morning here in Noosa. I headed out at 8am and it was sunning and about 15°C, nearer 20° when I was done. Headed along the coastal boardwalk which was hilly, very popular, and very pretty. Will venture further this way another day.
Holiday has hit a bit of a speed bump with Miss 11 quite unwell with a cold. Hopefully she’ll be over the worst today. She’s gutted as it seems she always gets sick in holiday. Poor wee poppet.

Great running and so pretty @ContraryMaryMary .
Thanks @tarun_yadavA . Nice run.
@WarmJellyfish Nice running. I had to look up moozie…not a term I've ever heard before. I would feed them too…they seem to love me.
Thanks @Scott6255 . I hope those shoes work out for you.
@CMorning99 I hope you continue to feel well and the fire stays away and they get it under control soon.
Thanks @chris_in_cal and @SummerSkier .
I do hope you feel better tomorrow @yirara .
Thanks @Mari33a . Bike riding is great exercise too.
Thanks @John772016 . Good idea to take it easy with the poor air quality. I'm glad it was a little better in the ravine.
Sounds like a good plan @micukica .
Very pretty @ContraryMaryMary . I hope Ms 11 feels a lot better tomorrow.

1 Aug - Walked 2.00 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - Driveway wun
2 Aug - Walked 3.00 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - Treadmill wun
3 Aug - Walked 1.15 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - Driveway
4 Aug - Walked 0.60 miles - Ran 6.00 miles - Tusculum Trail11.75/80.00 mile goal
I got up this morning, ate, and then went to a nearby paved trail for my birthday wun. I walked 0.3 miles for warm up and cool down and did a run/walk for 6 miles. This felt a lot better than I expected it would. Avg pace for the wun was 13:24 min/mile. Avg HR was 137 with a max of 154 bpm. Splits were 12:43, 12:21, 13:48, 12:51, 13:45, and 14:08.
View from the trail.
There's a bridge over this cute little creek.
The trail was flooded for about 0.20 mile. On the way out, I managed to keep my feet dry, but went the wrong way on the way back and both were soaked. I really dislike running with wet shoes.
It's hard to tell, but the hill right in front of me here, (the person at the bottom isn't me) is a killer. Even walking it I had to stop and rest at the top. Hence mile 3 was the slowest. Going back down was easy peasy though.

I ran 3.01M at 11'39 over in Mission Bay at I place I used to run a million years ago. I felt sentimental.
Out west is the first big fire of the season. From now until the first rain in November or December we're on alert.

@quilteryoyo I messaged Honu Nui, and they are fine. They have a trip planned early next year to go to the Galapagos! Told her I may plan a trip her way after graduation.

Happy Birthday @quilteryoyo! Looks like you had a beautiful birthday run.
Nice shoes @Scott6255
Beautiful pictures @ContraryMaryMary
Happy Anniversary @Mari33a
There was lightning this morning when I got up. It was just an isolated thunderstorm. I think there was more rain east of us. We didn't really get much of anything. But I had to wait a bit to get out for my run this morning. I ran 5 miles. It was a pretty good run. I did have a loose dog follow me for a couple of blocks. He wasn't aggressive or anything, and then he lost interest and went off somewhere else.

Morning all
I got in 5.5 miles at 10'35

I have been busy in all my free time getting ready for Vacation Bible School at my church for next week. I am doing the decorations. I also fully relaxed Saturday and Sunday and embraced the first long weekend here since May.
I am determined to get out on my lunch break today.

@quilteryoyo that is a BIG hill!
Thanks for checking in on Honu Nui @swenson19d. Glad to hear they are Ok.
Ugh, those California wild fires 🔥 @chris_in_cal. Every year! Hope they aren't too bad this year.Tried out the new shoes this morning. They felt pretty good, all things considered. Did 5 miles @ 9'47, but it was 81F and sticky! And we are in a cool front 😕
5 -
Good morning!
@quilteryoyo Happy Birthday !
@john772016 Hope the smoke stays mostly away from you . We are pretty close to the fires but the smoke plume seems to be moving south vs east/west.
1 Aug - 0 Miles, 0 WOG, 0 min upper body
2-3 Aug - Rest/Sick
4 Aug - 1.5 Miles, 4 min WOG, 35 min upper bodyGoal: (1.5) 20 Miles / (4) 39 Min WOG'ing / (1) 13 Strength
Made it to the gym, didn't feel sick all day, not well…but not sick. DH seems to have the worst of it. Smoke from the fires seems to be staying to the east of us with the help of our sundowner winds.
I did a little extra yesterday to chip away at missing Friday. I probably wont make up the strength training session since I already do it 3x a week. I also did my first WOG and it hurt LOL…only 4 min too! The soft tissue around my knees was twingy and my calves seized up on queue. How could my calves be THAT weak!?? I really felt the gained weight.
Busy week with a big push on chores so should productive!

It seemed a little cooler when I stepped out of the house this morning, but it didn't take long for it to feel very warm. I ran 6 miles. It was one of those runs that starts out kind of iffy, but feels better as you go along.

Nice run @chris_in_cal .
@swenson19d That's great to hear. I am jealous of her trip to the Galapagos.
Thanks @kgirlhart . Nice runs. Glad the dog was nice and lost interest quickly.
Great run @tarun_yadavA . Mom got her card from you today. She said, "Is it from England?" "Oh, wow!" Thank you so much. It was really nice.
Welcome @username301 .
I'm pulling for you @angf0679 .
@Scott6255 Great run, esp in those sticky conditions. Glad the shoes felt good.

Yesterday monday was supposed to be a recovery day. So I threw on a 25lb ruck and a walkin' we will go. Sheesh, I need to do this more often, especially if I want to go fastpacking. Spending too much time looking in one direction only 🙄
1 -
Great shoes @Scott6255!
Pretty pics @ContraryMaryMary & nice run, sounds like my perfect weather.
Great birthday run @quilteryoyo!, looks like a beautiful spot to run it as well!
Nice runs @chris_in_cal, @kgirlhart, @tarun_yadavA, @Scott6255, @CMorning99, @Mari33a!
Pretty sure my 'recovery day' isn't a 25lb pack @WarmJellyfish!😀Welcome @username301!
"…I completed once 50km, twice marathon , and several times HM, and many trainings 10 miles, 10km...", pretty sure I should be asking you for advice @micukica! 👏 I'm sure you'll do fine! The muscles will eventually remember, the brain may try to kill you, but push on!Thanks @CMorning99, unfortunately the smoke seems to be blowing right towards us this time, and then on to the US apparently. I can only imagine how bad it is for the folks out west having to deal with the fires.
It is odd though, yesterday we were among the worst in the world for air quality & I was able to run outside, mostly comfortably. I'm assuming the smoke was staying at higher levels.
Today, I had a hard time breathing just while walking to pick up groceries, & my eyes were burning the entire time. Officially we were told the air quality warnings were removed this morning and we were now fine.
I really doubt it, as all I could smell was smoke the entire time I was outside shopping and my eyes are still sore (now hours later).
Anyway, I did something I hate to do in the summer, I decided to hop on the treadmill for a quick 5K when I got home from shopping, rather than abuse my eyes & lungs any more.Aug:

@quilteryoyo Happy Birthday! That Looks Like a great run you did to celebrate!
I am logging 2 runs. Today I ran 10.2km and yesterday 9.1km. I am enjoying the route and my final days out here on Long Island. We have gone to lots of beaches and done other things but I am glad there usually seems to be time for me to get a nice run in.
There is always a lot to look at during my runs - first and foremost being for traffic as there are generally no sidewalks. But also deer, turkeys, and lately golfers, as I have been running “through” the golf course. There are no shortage here of nice waterfront views. I’m sure I’ll miss it. The kids will too! On the other hand, I enjoy never having to watch and/or listen to cars in Germany and the kids seem to be tired of talking in English ;) - there’s always a trade off. ….And we can always come back in a couple years.
39.8/250km for August.

@Laurz9191 Thanks for the travelogue. It is so nice coming here and seeing all the locations we've visited.
I enjoy never having to watch and/or listen to cars in (all places)
Yup, I could not agree more. I was carless for ten years when I lived in a nice city. Now, I contribute to the traffic, but try to drive as little as possible.
Now I am old and not so fearless for riding my bike everywhere.

Supposed to do a Vo2max training run today. Found out I can still do squirts. 12% training score tho sigh, cant get the hr up enough 🙄
