Starting again and looking for friends to hold me accountable.
Hi everyone! I am tired of feeling like a slug and want to finally start living a healthy lifestyle. I have tried many times. There is no one in my life that holds me accountable and I've failed many times trying to hold myself accountable.
I am 5'5" and starting at 204lbs (36" waist). My goals are to lose 40 pounds and 5" from my waist. Right now my focus is on calorie deficit (logging and weighing all food) and walking 10,000 steps per day on average. Once I get this routine down I plan to trade in some of the walking for weight training. I'm trying to take baby steps so that I don't burn out on this.
I enjoy hiking, cooking, gardening, board/card games, and the occasional craft project. I also love a good TV show or movie. I work full time, my spouse works full time, and we have two busy sons. Please let me know if you need an accountability buddy!

Hi Michelle. I just started tracking my food this week and am looking for an accountability buddy.
I exercise about an hour 7 days a week, but my I eat too much so can't lose any weight. I've been eating a little healthier more more and more often, so my cholesterol is on the way down, but my blood pressure is high. I'm 5' 6" and weighed 178 earlier this week (under 174 today); I want to get down to about 145 and hopefully bring my BP down.
I enjoy working out, crafting, and watching TV. I retired at the end of 2023 at age 55, and my husband just retired in June at age 58, so we're hoping to take a trip after our boys get out of college next spring. My first retirement goal was to declutter the house, but that's going slowly - I have been motivated some more lately due to remodel of our master bath and closet, which is nearing the end.
What kind of crafts do you enjoy? I'm a card maker and I take art classes (mainly fused glass) at a local community college with my old boss and some work friends that have also retired. I also own a Silhouette machine so I sometimes make decals, shirts, etc. Having lots of hobbies is good for my ADHD mine, lol.

Hi Mac. Workouts and tracking done for yesterday and today. I lost .2 lbs yesterday morning. We had lunch out yesterday, so I went over my calories by 35 (not bad), and I still lost .6 lbs (5.6 lbs in all)…woo hoo! I'm back on track today. Tracking my food is definitely helping.

Hi. Workout done, started today's tracking. Gained back .4 lbs (down 5.2 lbs in all) - I guess Saturday caught up with me.

Hi. Even though I haven't posted, I've been working out and tracking food daily. Down 6.1 lbs in 12 days…not bad.

Hi vgpeterson, I’m just getting back in the swing with fitness pal (which worked great for me several years ago- lost 26 lbs.). This accountability section is new for me but I thought I’d try it. I want to lose about 25 lbs. Currently 191, my heaviest ever. Been tracking now for 2 weeks, down 3 lbs which is good for me. I lose weight really slow. I eat pretty healthy but struggle with portion control and evening snacking. My main goal is to just start feeling better and fit in my clothes!
I’m in my 60s and currently recovering from rotator cuff surgery, ergo the weight has piled on! But now at least I’m healed enough to get back on the excercise bike. I think a posting buddy would help me make sure I’m tracking everyday. Lets try!1
