Added vs. Natural sugar meter
Throughout the day, most of the sugars I eat are from fruits, but the meter combines the two kinds under a general tab. I’d like to be able assess how much added sugar (the one that actually needs to be limited) I consume without needing to manually do the math.

After meeting with a registered dietician, I found her only real concern was that added sugar stay under 25g. Considering this is an overall health and fitness app, I'm very surprised MFP doesn't distinguish between natural and added sugars. I sure wish it would!

- Display natural sugars and added sugars separately in the daily nutrition summary.
- Automatically calculate added sugars from logged foods that contain them, while showing natural sugars from fruits, veggies, and dairy separately.
- Possibly offer alerts or reminders when added sugar limits are close to being exceeded.

I've been requesting this since 4/2/2024 or earlier. MFP Blog from 10/17/25 "
Do I Need to Worry About Sugar If It’s From Fruit?"even talks about it and why ADDED SUGAR NOT NATURALLY OCCURRING SUGARS are important for overall health. ADDED SUGAR is especially mentioned by The American College of Cardiology as detrimental to cardiac health.
The database on the android app shows the Added Sugar data but it is not displayed (captured?) in any reports.
MFP did a lot of cosmetic changes to the web version., When you had the opportunity why did you not include this important tracking???

That has been a request for years now. Not sure why it hasn't been acted on.
